Webkinz Birthday Party Ideas
76Webkinz are the coolest pets around!
When my son said he'd like to have a Webkinz party for his birthday my wheels immediately started spinning! I'd played on my kids Webkinz sites many times and there were some great games that I knew would be easy to pull ideas from for the party. Webkinz are still hugely popular with the kids and I think will be for some time to come so read on to see how you too can throw a super fun Webkinz party!
First, for invitations we took a picture of my son with all of his Webkinz and used that for the front of the card. I thought this would be a good idea since many of the kids would be getting him Webkinz for gifts, they'd be able to see which ones he already had. The inside read "Come party with me and my Webkinz!" and all of the party details.
As the kids arrived I had them decorate a bag with their name on it. I had markers and animal stickers laid out all over the table. This kept them busy while we were waiting for everyone to arrive and they would be using the bags to collect prizes in.
Once everyone arrived I asked the kids if they ever went mining for gems on Webkinz, and of course they all had. So I asked if they'd like to go on a gem hunt in our house and they got very excited! For this I purchased bags of colored stones found at the dollar store. I had 10 different types of stones that the kids were to look for and they were supposed to find one of each. I hid them all around and they had a ball collecting their "gems".
Once they were done with that I asked them what happened when they found all of the gems on Webkinz and they said that they got a Crown of Wonder, so I asked if they'd like to make their own Crown of Wonder. I had purchased gold paper crowns from Oriental Trading Company that we fit to each child's head and also found small gold paper crowns at the local party store that were the perfect size for their Webkinz. Before the party I had made up a bag for each kid with their name on it to make it easy. Inside the bag were foam letters for their names to put on the large crown and also lots of adhesive "gems". I found these at Oriental Trading Company and also got more at Wal-Mart.

More Fun to Come....
When the kids were finished with their crowns we played "Operation Gumball". I filled a jar with colored gumballs and had them guess how many were in the jar. I'm not a big fan of just giving one child a prize or having one winner so all of the kids were winners and each got a prize of gumballs to put in their bags.
Next, we brought all of the kids to the computer and had them sit in a circle. We pulled up Quizzy's Questions and asked each kid 2 questions. I made sure that they were age appropriate and pretty easy because I wanted each kiddo to get the right answer on the first try. For each question that they got right they got a prize. One prize was a rainbow crayon and the second was a small bag of animal erasers.
We then all went back into the kitchen where we played "Chef's Challenge". Each child got a plate with 3 cookies on it, one was shaped as a "W" for Webkinz, one was a bunny and one was a frog. I had different colored frosting and cups of M&Ms, Skittles, and sprinkles for them to decorate their cookies. Then we slid the plates with the cookies into a large ziplock bag with the child's name on it for them to take home. Kids love this activity and I usually do it at most of my kids' parties. For this Webkinz themed party you could pretty much use any animal shaped cookie, my son chose these as the ones that he wanted.
After the Chef's Challenge we played "Candy Bash" which was just a candy filled pinata. A pinata is a staple that my kids always have to have at their parties because the kids love it so much!
Then came cake, ice cream and presents. For the cake I made a sheet cake with white frosting and used rainbow Skittles to make a large "W". I also scattered rainbow sprinkles over the entire cake. For ice cream I always use the pre-packaged ice cream cups to make it nice and easy. When it comes to presents I have found a great way to keep things calm and organized. I have the kids sit on the floor in a big circle. I put 2 chairs in two of the spots around the circle. I have the birthday child sit in one chair and the person either to his left or right come up and sit in the other chair while the present is opened. We then work our way around the circle with each child coming up while their gift is being opened. This way everyone can see and I can keep track of who got what for thank you cards.
At the end of the party I gave the kids their favors. I handed out the bags and said that they had to wait to open them until I counted to three. They all opened them at the same time to find a Webkinz animal of their own! I had found a store that was having a sale a couple of months before the party and picked up a bunch at a great price. You can definitely find them for discounted prices if you keep your eyes open. You can also find some great deals on Ebay sometimes. I gave each child a different animal and told them that if they wanted to trade with someone they could, but they were all very excited with the ones they got and wanted to keep them.
While we waited for parents to arrive for pick-up, the kids all traded their Usernames so they could send each other gifts and notes.
They all absolutely LOVED the party and were talking about it for quite some time after!

Thank you! I appreciate that! Yes, the kiddos absolutely LOVED it and were talking about it for quite some time! All of the games and activities kept them busy for the entire 2 hours so it was great not to have any down time to worry about filling.

What a wonderful idea for a birthday party! My girls love Webkinz and so do most of their friends. I'm going to add your link to my party hub.
