The wedding reception is an important part of your wedding day. If you are anything like I was before my big day, you want everything to look absolutely beautiful. One way to add beauty and elegance is by incorporating table centerpieces into your wedding decor. For your wedding centerpieces here are some simple yet gorgeous ideas.

Wedding Flower Centerpieces

The most popular type of centerpieces for weddings is the traditional floral arrangements. This type of piece can be used to create an extravagant table or a more simplistic look depending on what you are going for. Most brides use the same color palette for centerpieces as they do the rest of their wedding, but this is totally up to you. To save some cash, consider visiting your local craft stores to find great sales for silk flowers.

Some of the most popular types of flowers for centerpieces include roses, lilies, orchids, and daisies. For a simple yet impressive look, try floating different colored roses or daisies in a large bowl. At the bottom of the bowl you can have colored marbles or smooth river rocks.

You could also dress up a simple vase with the ribbon or lace of your choice and then add tulips in the same color. This is a very popular way to add style and pizzazz to your reception tables.

Candle Wedding Centerpieces

Adding candles to the center of your tables adds romance and drama to the room. Adding candle wedding centerpieces is also a simple way to help your guests feel more comfortable.

Small candle lanterns are popular among brides because the little lanterns are stylish and provide just the right amount of candle light. You can also decorate these in many ways by painting them or adding a bit of glitter so they give off an impressive sparkle.

If you are going for a more luxurious feel consider using tall candelabra’s and decorating them with flowers and dangling crystals. This is especially beautiful if the lights are dim in the room and the candles are lit. The candle light shines through the crystals and makes for an exquisite table setting.

Another way to use candles is to purchase cylinder candle holders of various heights. You can add to the light effect by adding a mirror under all the holders.

Fruit Wedding Centerpieces

Nothing can add color to a table like fruit. Adding a few lemons or limes to a tall candle holder can liven up any reception hall. You could also use fresh berries such as blueberries or cranberries in your wedding reception centerpieces. The berry colors look especially great against white or any light colored table linens. There are many other popular fruits that are used such as pomegranate, star fruit, pears, and kiwi.

If you want the fruit look without actually using fresh fruit there are floating candles made to resemble lemons, oranges, and limes. Adding these to a square glass pond is a very simple way to add decor to your tables.

Edible Wedding Centerpieces

It’s a known fact that food is an excellent way to bring people together, so using an edible display is a wonderful idea for your wedding reception. Having this type of centerpiece is also a non-wasteful way to fill up the center of your tables.

Cookie bouquets are a very artistic and yummy alternative to the more traditional wedding centerpieces. There are several cookie bouquet websites online or you could contact your local bakery and see what they have to offer. Some of these bouquets can be expensive depending on the detail and time it takes to complete each cookie. Most bakers hand paint each cookie which ups the price considerably. Even still, they look magnificent as a centerpiece and are very memorable to guests.

Another way to add a little flavor to your table is by making a cheese tray. These trays feature your favorite cheeses, crackers, and fruits. Add style by using silver serving trays. This is an inexpensive way to spruce up your table without going over your budget.

If you are a chocoholic or love smooth and rich sweets, why not offer your guests some of your favorites? Using a tiered cake stand, display different kinds of sweets on each tier. The choices are limitless. You could offer caramel pecan truffles, cherry cordials, glazed apricots, and chocolate covered toffee. Be sure to provide an abundant selection of candies so your guests have plenty to choose from.

If you’ve ever been to an outdoor barbeque I’m sure you’ve heard of skewers. These skewers are used in a new way when talking about center pieces for weddings. First add colorful fruits such as grapes, kiwi, and strawberries to the skewers. Then arrange the skewers, like you would any flower arrangement, in a nice vase for a very eye appealing and tasty edible centerpiece. You could also use different veggies or cheeses in the same way.

Fall Wedding Centerpiece Ideas

For fall wedding centerpieces you could display a pumpkin or jack-o-lantern as a holder for flowers or candles. You could also use various gourds or fall colored leaves.

Many brides use gem toned colors, so anything that calls to you as "fall" like would work perfectly. Some brides incorporate bare tree limbs into their fall centerpieces.

Apples are very popular for fall weddings. Many times they are added to floral arrangements. If you want to combine your wedding favors with your centerpieces, candied apples are always a great fall wedding hit.

Coffee beans are a great way to invite the natural colors of the outdoors into your wedding reception. Fill a vase with coffee beans, add a pillar candle. This is a very simple, yet elegant fall centerpiece idea.

I hope that with the help of this article you have been able to get many useful wedding centerpiece ideas to help you make your big day absolutely perfect for you and your husband-to-be.

Hi Stepanie... i love the photos you have in here. Great info too, especially on the edible centerpieces. Should help a lot those who have no idea on what to put as their centerpiece.

Thanks for stopping by!

I have seen some of the best centerpieces made out of edible stuff over the years. Most of it looks too beautiful to eat though. :)

These are beautiful! I love the ones with glasses/hurricanes with rocks inside. We like to do those with the little glass pebbles like those you put in fish tanks, then float little tea lights inside.
