Wedding Decorating Ideas To Create Your Dream Day

Some Brides just seem to effortlessly pull off an amazing wedding with what seems like no effort! Most of us however, need to put quite a bit of thought and stress into the wedding decorating ideas right. One of the things that make a wedding special is when the decorating of all aspects seems to naturally & seamlessly tie in together.

Things to consider when planning your wedding decoration ideas; Start with something simple like a pretty feather or flower or a candle or fabric/paper pattern or your wedding dress. Let this be the center piece that everything else needs to tie in with.

Some Wedding Decorating Ideas are your favorite flower. Find some pretty paper or fabric that has your favorite flower on it. Use this for your invitations. Use a small peice or strip of it on your order of service booklets for your ceremony and also a strip of it for you placecards and anything else where you need paper.

You can also use flowers as centerpieces for weddings, You can go all out and have a mass of flowers in a tall vase with wicker and twinkle lights, or you could have short stemmed flowers in a low vase with small votive or tea light candles, or you could use a candelabra with your favourite flower woven into a wreath and laid at the base of it. You could also have just a few flowers inside a glass jar in water (as per picture #4) and a candle floating above.

Flowers are a great addition to any wedding reception decoration and you are only limited by yours and your florists imagination. Make sure you find a good florist who has experience in weddings and has preferably worked at your location before. They will already know what suits the room, what works, the best and fastest and easiest way to do their set up etc. Trust me, a good florist can save you much stress! I initially was so confused and did not know what kind of flowers i wanted, i showed my florist a picture of my dress, the bridesmaids dresses and he had already worked at my reception hall numerous times, so he knew what would be perfect to suit all my ideas. And it was!

Another great centerpiece idea is to use candles and twinkle lights. You could have a long tall vase with tall wicker and twinkle lights (make sure there are enough power points and make sure you are allowed to do this, all the cords could end up a trip hazard for your guests, try to find battery operated twinkle lights) and low votive or tea light candles on the tables. To add some colour you could use just a few tall flowers, or some pretty feathers, again, try not to get too colourful and if you do, keep it minimal and classy, weddings are all about elegance and grace not hot pink and purple love hearts etc. Don't get me wrong, i love color, but it must be carefully executed so as not to look like a teenage girls birthday celebration.

Other elements of your wedding decoration & planning that should tie into your theme are (in order of how your guests will see them);

· Your Invitations. This includes the color, paper pattern and wording (formal or casual). Also think about how your Bridal Shower and Bachelorette invitations will tie in. Make these more fun and flirty and bright but with at least one element the same as the rest of your theme (i.e. color scheme, a pearl or ribbon)

· The ceremony. Is this a formal church affair (have lots of white flowers and classical music) or a casual outdoors or beach wedding with lots of pretty colors, rose petal given to your guests to throw and maybe even a barefoot policy.

· The number of guests invited. This says a lot about your wedding, it’s difficult to have a relaxed, casual fun day when there are 200 people to try and get around and say hello to. But if you are having a more formal affair than the more people the better. (As long as the budget permits)

· Do you arrange for your guests to do something in between the ceremony and the reception or leave them to make their own fun? Again, this determines if it is formal or casual. (To make it even more casual, have your ceremony and reception either very close together or at the same place so your guests can relax and enjoy themselves without worrying about getting to and from places on time in between or trying to entertain themselves for hours in between).

· Reception Decorations. These should flow on from the ceremony, keep the color scheme similar or if using flowers, use the same flowers in a different color. Things such as place cards and table names or numbers and anything else on paper should tie in with your invitation paper. Center pieces should continue the theme also, small and casual for a fun/casual wedding theme and big & bold & elegant for a more formal and decorative wedding.

Whatever the decorations you decide, make sure that all the elements flow on together. (Try not to make everything match or use too many bold colors, but try to make all the elements complement each other.)
