Wedding Dresses with Sleeves

Have you begun shopping for your wedding dress and would prefer one with sleeves? Do you think that wedding dresses with sleeves are either hard to find or very dowdy? Are you wondering where to look for the perfect wedding dress with sleeves? Here are some suggestions to get you started. Whatever your reason is: whether it is due to religious modesty, weight or you just prefer the sleeved wedding dress style (and many of us do), here is a guide to help you decipher which should be the right dress for you.

One dress that is gorgeous with rich beading and detail is of a style design named Morlotti. This dress features an A-line silhouette (which is my own favorite type of silhouette) and is available in sizes 4-28. The colors offered are cream, gold, ivory or white. If you would like a dress like this, it is important to make the decision in a timely manner because 14-16 weeks is needed for delivery and in order to avoid additional shipping costs.

The Morlotti dress is available from distributors such as latterdaybride.com

Inglewood

Of all the dresses that the Latter Day bride site has to offer, my second favorite is a design named Inglewood. It is available at a cost of $705 and in sizes 0-30. The dress features beaded french lace over matte satin and is also A-line. It is available in white.

Approximately 14 weeks is also needed for shipping of this dress.

disclaimer: as time passes from the writing of this hub 2009, of course prices and availabity of certain styles may change.

Another website that gets high ratings with me for its offering of sleeved wedding dress design options is a website for a business called Stylish Bridal. That site also ranks high for affordability. Most brides will want to effectively budget their money for the costs incurred for their weddings. Perhaps you have set aside no more than a certain amount that will be spent specifically on your wedding dress. If cost is a large factor, these dresses are relatively affordable when it comes to wedding dresses. They are: long sleeved wedding dress style code: 3312 at a cost of $399 and style code: 3013 at a cost of $319. These are my top recommended choices for long sleeved wedding dresses from the Stylish Bridal site, weddingdressdiscount.com.

The lovely designs I have found and featured above focus on the long sleeve look. The last photo above gives the shrug option. Shrugs and wraps are very good options for adding to a sleeveless dress.

Of course, some brides might prefer short sleeves or cap sleeves. The difference between the cap sleeve and sleeveless is very subtle for adding some more coverage to the upper arm.

As discussed in the introduction, women choose sleeved wedding dresses as their style choice for an array of reasons. A plus sized bride, modest bride, or any bride that just prefers sleeves deserves to have lots of options to choose from when shopping for her dress.

I'll close this article by featuring another one of my favorite wedding and bridesmaid dress designers. Below are just a few more choices in the sleeved wedding dress or wedding dress with shrug options and they come from Alfred Angelo.

The last dress is quite beautiful, but still I prefer sleeveless wedding dresses. A woman's back is so beautiful, and sleeves cover it up entirely!

I am perplexed by women who insist on wearing a strapless dress even though it does nothing for them.  Brides should explore all options and styles before they commit to "the dress."  Not only can it be a huge commitment financially and emotionally, but you gotta look at that choice for a REALLY long time.  Take your time and you'll know when you've found it. I'm ready for the pendulum to swing a little more toward modesty myself. I like a little of the lace and foo-foo!

I have watch wedding dress styles for a number of years and have always felt the only one benefiting from the sleveless gowns were the manufacturers.

The gowns with sleves are lovely and they cover a lot of blemishes (oversize arms). I would like very much to see them come back. However, I expect the gown price will increase trememdously.

hi homemakerpat, thanks so much for commenting. I agree with what you say. The price of the gowns with sleeves will regrettably be higher because more fabric is used but they are such beautiful gowns.

There's something formal about wedding gowns with sleeves. It's formal but not boring. It's perfect for those who might not want to show their scars as well. If I were to choose one, I'd wear a sleeveless wedding dress and a shrug over it. That way, I can take it off whenever I want to. And I'd go for the one with lace. I find that to be very sexy but at the same time beautiful. Good one Journey!

omg I love loveee the 4th dress long sleeve wedding dress, Style code: 3013

so elegant, delicate and beautiful. It's hard to find sleeved dresses that are not too overwhelming or heavy looking. I love the lace. That would be one of my dream dresses.

I won't be needing a wedding dress (my wedding took place in 1970) but took a look at this hub just to see what is now fashionable. I loved the 1st and 3rd alfredangelo designs and also the one up higher with the shrug. Nice job with this hub.

I don't get the sleeve-less dresses. In my opinion very few women look good in dresses that leave the shoulders and arms completely bare. Anyone who isn't very slim gets a roll where it digs in to stay up, and anyone who is very slim tends to look flat-chested in them. Your sleeve-full dresses here are lovely.
