Wedding flip flops are a must
I just got married and the biggest piece of advice I would have is to buy yourself a pair of wedding flip flops. Lots of people suggested this to me, but I just didn’t believe them. Somehow, I thought that if I just purchased lower heel shoes, it would be OK. So, I bought myself a pair of 2 inch wedding shoes and assumed they would be low enough that my feet would be comfortable.
For the first hour, my feet were perfectly fine. I took pictures with my fiancé and we did the entire reveal. I then took even more fun pictures with my bridesmaids and at one point, we all held hands and jumped up in the air for some great pictures. Then, during the second hour, my feet continued to feel fine as we took more pictures. For the ceremony, I thought, wow, these are the best shoes ever. I walked down the aisle and everything was perfectly smooth. No wobbles and my feet didn’t hurt at all during the 30 minute ceremony.
Finally, during the reception, half way through the First Dance, I felt the pain. My feet started to hurt and hurt and the pain went all the way up my leg. I wanted to rip off the 2 inch heels and put on some wedding flip flops. I kept thinking about why I didn’t buy a pair. I had even seen a pair of Just Married Flip Flops in the store, but decided against it. But, at that moment, I really wanted a pair of bridal flip flops to slip on. We still had the toasting, more dancing and more talking to guests. I didn’t want to be sitting all night doing that. So, for all of you brides out there, don’t forget a pair of wedding flip flops for your big day.
Choose the Right Wedding Flip Flops
I just came from a wedding where I saw a bride change into a pair of wedding flip flops. At first, she had a pair of gorgeous white bridal shoes on. The shoes had rhinestones and sparkly designs on them. They matched the dress perfectly since the dress had little rhinestones on them as well. I envied them since my own wedding shoes on my wedding day didn’t match my dress. This bride had chosen a pair of shoes that perfectly matched her dress. Then, afterwards, she changed into a pair of bridal flip flops. However, the flip flops were so ugly.
I never thought the design of the flip flops mattered, but they definitely do. The flip flops she chose were black. They weren’t white to match her dress. You could see the color underneath the dress as she danced her First Dance. She hadn’t even waited until after the dance so everyone could see the black flip flops. She should have chosen a pair of white flip flops so it wouldn’t have been so obvious to everyone. The black shown out so clearly since she had on a white dress.
If you are going to buy a pair of wedding flip flops for your big day, at least buy white flip flops. Don’t just wait until the last minute to buy the flip flops or just grab your own pair that you have at home. You’ve shopped around a lot for your wedding dress. You’ve planned and planned to make sure that everything matches and is perfect for your wedding day. So, make sure you have a pair of white bridal flip flops that match.
Wedding Flip Flops at the Right Height
I’ve seen lots of brides change into wedding flip flops during their big day. They will wear their wedding heels for their ceremony and First Dance, and then they will change afterwards while they walk from table to table to do their toast and while they go on the dance floor with their guests. The biggest problem with this is not that they are changing into wedding flip flops, but that they choose flip flops that are not at the same height as their wedding heels. Many of them have chosen to be taller on their wedding day, meaning they choose wedding shoes that are 3 inches high or sometimes even 4 inches. Then, afterwards, they change into 1 inch wedding flip flops and guess what happens? Their dresses start dragging on the ground. When they walk, people trip all over them because the hemline is too long. When people reach out to hug them, they step on their hem line and cause the bride and themselves to almost fall over. Then, finally, when the bride gets on the dance floor, she finds that it is really hard to dance because her dress is dragging and it is hard to move around.
So, for all of you brides thinking about changing into wedding flip flops later on during your wedding day, consider buying flip flops whose heels are the same height as your heels. Do not buy 1 inch flip flops if you are wearing 3 inch wedding shoes. Check the heel height of your shoes and then look around for thick flip flops that will allow you to be the same height or a similar height after you change into them.
Just Married Flip Flops
Recently, I was in the store and saw a pair of Just Married Flip Flops. The words were etched on the bottom so when you stood in sand, it would make an imprint of the words “Just” and “Married” from your flip flops. Then, wherever you walk, everyone would subtly know that you were on your honeymoon with your new husband.
I thought these were a fantastic gift for any new bride. On their honeymoons, brides want to feel extra special. Most of the time, if you tell people it’s your honeymoon, the hotels or restaurants will provide you with an extra glass of champagne or sometimes even an entire bottle of champagne. If you wear these wedding flip flops, you can tell everyone you’ve just been married without shouting it to the rooftops all the time. Plus, the biggest benefit of the Just Married Flip Flops is that you can put them on right after your wedding ceremony. These will be truly symbolic since you can now say that you were just married. Therefore, having something fun, cute and truly comfortable to wear on your wedding day and then keeping them around to wear on your honeymoon will add something extra special to your big day. Why not look for a pair? They are reasonably priced and they will save your feet from hurting in those high wedding heels that you’ve already chosen to wear.
