Wedding Venues & Music - Reducing the Cost

A wedding is one of life's main events and as such is usually saved for over a period of time. It also costs "an arm and a leg" and who would want to short change the Bride on her special day!

However, there are ways to get the same quality and at the same time, paying a little less.

The most popular day for a wedding has traditionally been Saturday. Wedding venues often offer a reduced price for other days of the week when they are less busy. It is true that couples are getting married more and more on week days as well as weekends as people become more aware of the advantages.

When you think of all the extras involved, photographer, flowers and perhaps live music, these people are also are more than happy to work on days other than Saturdays.

This means that discounts are possibly available for more than just the wedding venue. For example, the musicians and or disco may be fully booked for Saturdays throughout the summer and would be very happy to get some extra work "off-peak" which may be reflected in the fee.

Booking musicians directly will also reduce the cost as agency fees will probably add around an extra 20% at least!

So there you have it ... a few ways to reduce the cost of a wedding without reducing the quality.
