Making Wedding Invitations More Personalised
66Making your Invitation Unique to you
There are many ways you can make your wedding invitation more personal and you don't need to pay a high price for them either.
Of course if your wedding budget has sufficient funds you could have custom made wedding invitation which are often termed as bespoke wedding invitations. Because they are one off invitations created specifically for you they tend to be much more expensive. At the other end of the scale, if you're strapped for cash and have plenty of time you could make you own wedding invitations. However making wedding invitations is a very time consuming process but you can make it much easier to good planning, the right materials and tools
Flowered Lilac Wedding Invitations
Chances are that you fall between these 2 extremes with an average amount budgeted for wedding invitations, if this is you, don't worry, there are plenty of ways to get personalised wedding invitations without going over budget. You can see in the image above that this wedding invitation design uses the name of the bride and groom as the main focal point for the design. This also makes a nice alternative than the tradition "Wedding Invitation" phrase being printed on to the front of the invite. These handmade wedding invites cost the same as normal handmade wedding invitations but you have the bonus of them being completely personalised and therefore unique.
If you want to stick with the traditional "Wedding Invitation" wording you can still make your wedding invites unique by having your own wording inside the invitation, there is nothing to stop you deviating from the traditional wording for example you might want to add your own poem or favourite quote. If you've chosen to go with a decent Wedding Invitation designer they should be happy to allow your own wording at no extra cost. Since traditional wedding invitation wording is quite formal you could use this opportunities to let your joint personality shinning through.
Some wedding stationery companies offer to print your wedding guests’ names free of charge, if the company you choose to go with, does offer this service, grab it. Not only will it save you time not having to hand writing all the invitations but it will add a touch of class to your wedding invitations too.
You could always make your wedding invitations more unique by placing something into the envelope to fall out when the invitation is opened such as a thought invoking verse to make the recipient smile. Stay away from adding glitter or confetti as this will only irritate your guests when they have to get out the vacuum cleaner to clean up the mess.
You can also personalise the stamp that you add to your wedding invitation. This can be done on the Royal Mail website by uploading a photograph. I think this is a really nice finishing touch to help make your wedding invites personal to you.

Have you any more ideas on how to make your wedding invitations more unique?
I like the idea of having mine and my husbands names on the wedding invites, it makes them unique to us and something completely different from shop bought wedding invites.
Those look fantastic! It seemed that taking this on would be such a burden, but you don't make it sound too bad :) Maybe I'll print my own!

Finding wedding invitations where you can have the brides and grooms name as part of the design is a fantastic idea. Unfortunately there aren't that many wedding invitation designers who do this.
