Week 10 Fantasy Football

Ahh, it's been a very long time since I have posted a hub as I haven't had much inspiration as of late, but since I am thick in the middle of the season of my 5 fantasy football leagues, I thought I would share some free agency pick-ups for this week.

Some of these players may very well be long gone, but I will mention them anyway. Most of them should be available and could add value to your fantasy football team this week or your rest of the season.

Week 10 Fantasy Football Pick-Ups

Here we go, I am going to give you a run down of some fantasy football gems that you might be able to pick-up.

Ladell Betts - RB - Washington Redskins

A great pick-up for this week with Clinton Portis reportedly being ruled out due to a concussion from the last game. I know Ladell is playing versus a tough Denver Broncos defense, but when it comes to offense, the Redskins don't have much, especially at the Quarterback position. Betts filled in nicely carrying the ball 15 times for 70 yards, and catching a ball for a 23 yard game at Atlanta. Not too shabby.

Alex Smith - QB - San Francisco 49ers

All right, you might be thinking, 'are you serious?'. Well, sorta. It depends who you have at your QB position. But Mr. Smith comes in this Thursday night game versus the Chicago Bears having a 29 for 45 passing performance for 286 yards 2 TD's, and 3 INT's. Not great, but not too awful. The Bears got torched last week by Kurt Warner's 5 TD's so if you're in need for a fill-in QB go after Smith.

Mark Sanchez - QB - New York Jets

Sanchez is coming off a bye and plays at home versus the 25th ranked pass defense in the league in the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags are coming off a win but allowed K.C. QB Matt Cassel 262 yards and 2 TD's. And oh, before the bye, Mark Sanchez went 20 for 35 265 yards and 2 TD's 0 INT's in his last game versus the Dolphins.

Roy Williams - WR - Dallas Cowboys

I guess if you bark about how you're still the #1 receiver on the team, you get added attention the following game. Well, that's what happened. Roy Williams, despite being outplayed by Miles Austin in past weeks, spoke to the media during the week heading before the Eagles game on Sunday night and stated that he is still the team's #1 receiver. The result? 5 receptions for 75 yards. This week's match-up versus the Packer's looks favorable, especially since the Packers just allowed the BUCS 3 passing touchdowns in their loss.

Darren McFadden - RB - Oakland Raiders

Well, not too much to state here, but if you're looking towards the future of the season, might be worth picking up. He has been practicing this week after having successful knee surgery. He should take back the starting role over Justin Fargas sooner than later.

Mike Sims-Walker - WR - Jacksonville Jaguars

As of the Jaguars didn't have enough guy's with hyphenated names (see Maurice Jones-Drew). Mike Sims-Walker (I like saying his name) has been on a tear for home games (same can be said of David Garrad at home). Last week Mike Sims-Walker (there, i did it again!) had 6 catches for 147 yards. Definitely a good pick-up for the rest of the year, IMO.

Sammie Stroughter - WR - Tampa Bay Bucs

Sammie who? You might be asking yourself. But if you look very carefully you'll notice that in the last 3 games for Sammie (3 catches, 65 yards, 3 catches 63 yards, 3 catches 19 yards 1TD) has quietly been consistent. If he develops a rapport with new starting QB Josh Freeman this could pay dividends later in the season.

I really like Alex Smith and Mark Sanchez as quality pick ups. Both will only improve in time and both have good defenses backing them up when their at their peak. Run DMC is definitely a guy to watch.

Good to hear from you again, buddy! Hope all's well.
