Weider Platinum

Home gyms have come a long way in recent years and are now advanced enough for even the serious athlete to achieve and maintain his or her fitness goals.

DESCRIPTION

The world's largest manufacturer of fitness equipment, Icon Health and Fitness, have created a real gem in the Weider Platinum Plus Home Gym. This home gym is user-friendly and features digital technology. All in all, it will enable you to take full control of your workout and customize it to fit your goals.

PROS

· You can choose from routines that will help you lose weight, burn fat, circuit train or strength train. There are nine goal-specific fitness routines.

· A personal trainer is built-in digitally for those who would prefer "someone" else choose their routine for them.

· This unique digital control resistance system moves in one-pound increments, as well as the typical 5 or 10-pound increments.

· The Weider Platinum Plus comes with a 10-year warranty.

· This home gym works every part of the body.

· This model of home gym is well priced at around $1,600.

· The Weider Platinum Plus comes standard with 240 pounds of resistance. An upgrade to 340 pounds is available for an additional cost of about $100.

· Stacked weights have been replaced with the Crossbar, pulleys, and cables. No pins to push or pull out of the machine, which means no smashed fingers.

· Consistent resistance and a full range of motion allow you to get the most from your workout.

· Four windows on the console are easily read at a glance.

· You have the option of programming how many sets and the number of repetitions you plan to include for each exercise.

· There are almost 75 exercises that you can do with the Weider Platinum Plus Home Gym.

· A leg attachment, curl pad and a curl bar come standard with this model, enabling you to do hamstring curls and preacher curls.

· It also comes with a high pulley and a low pulley. A pair of handles can be attached to either one for arm work.

· A leg press plate, back rests, an ankle strap, a long handle, extension straps, hip and ab straps, and cable clips all come standard with the Weider Platinum Plus.

· This home gym is on wheels and can be folded to save space when not in use.

CONS

· With the digital technology, there is the potential for problems. If the electronics go down for any reason, your workout routines go with it.

· Parts do need to be moved around, which could be a time issue for some people.

· There is a lat pull down station, but if you desire to include lat pull downs using a bar, that will need to be purchased separately. · Assembly of this home gym is extensive and time-consuming.

· The Weider Platinum Plus weighs over 300 pounds; so more than one person is required to assemble it safely.

· The Platinum Plus does not come with a pec dec.

· It's a bit too sophisticated for some people.

For the price, features, and relative ease of use, the Weider Platinum Plus Home Gym is a winner!
