Yea, It's Easy

laziness is the true disease ? maybe being impatient ?

I will not go and say that every single overweight person is that because of laziness. Some people do face serious medical issues. However I am going to say that a majority of people who are overweight ARE overweight due to them being lazy. A year ago I weighed 20 pounds more than I do today. I was the laziest person you could meet. I used to get all exited and say I was going to lose weight, eat better, workout hard. I would read articles and success stories and then get at it .... of course I would always start "tomorrow". Some times I would start, eat better and workout but then came late night snacks and it all went out the door. I think, actually I know that the problem I had with losing weight until this past year was that I expected too much too fast. Not only this but the goals I set for myself I wanted to achieve but clearly could not.

Why I and a lot of people out there fail at weight loss many times over.

I don't think there are many people who are overweight who don't want to lose that weight. The problem is some people just lack the motivation or don't really think they can lose it. When a majority of people do try to lose it they resort to pills, harsh diets, and unreasonable goals. A pill alone will not lose weight for you, a diet will not keep weight off for you, setting a goal to run 5 miles a day every day will not work if you can't run 1 mile first. The point is that people don't want to take the time to lose weight, they expect it fast and it does not come fast. When it does not come they get upset and sometimes people just give up.

Losing weight takes time, but it doesn't have to take that much effort.

If you really sit back and read up on health and weight loss you will see that no true weight loss is going to happen overnight. While it might upset some people, you can not decide to get lean for summer in early June. If we take our time however weight loss can be achieved, the best part is it does not take that much effort. Every 3500 calories you burn is a pound. That doesn't mean you have to burn 3500 calories per workout, or cut out 2000 calories a day from your diet. It simply means overtime, when the calories lost gets up to 3500 you have lost a pound. Now lets think about that. If you start walking for 15 minutes a day and burn 150 calories, maybe more maybe less. If you add to this say cutting back by 200-300 calories in your diet. Those simple changes can lead to 300-500 calories less than you would of had per day. That would mean you could lose a pound every 7-12 days. If you just cut down and decrease your calories by 300 a day compared to whatever your average diet currently is, that can lead to around 31 pounds lost in a years time. Those numbers are all hypothetical, you aren't going to be perfect with what you eat or how often you walk but that shows us that it is possible. I am no doctor, no health expert, but I honest did lose 20 pounds this year and I honestly did not put too much effort into it.

Don't give up, I failed more than I succeeded with these simple life changes, but I still lost the weight in the end.

Often times people are too hard on themselves. They lose it one night and eat way more than they should have, they get lazy and don't workout for a week or two. The worst thing you can do when you mess up is to get down on yourself and stop completely. Every time you mess up like this simply get back at it as soon as you can. I would have horrible weeks where I ate the worst foods possible and barely or didn't work out at all. All I did was looked forward and kept going. If every time you mess up, you get back to your plans as fast as possible than you will eventually succeed with your goals. When you feel like giving up just remember what giving up means and what it will lead too.

I don't have much more to write except some tips of simple things you can do to aid this weight loss. I am not lying to you when I say it is easy to do, just don't expect fast results. Every time you see a stupid add claiming to help you lose 20 pounds you need to realize that it IS possible to lose 10-20 pounds or so in several days. Here is the magical tip to losing 10-20+ pounds in a week...... WATER WEIGHT. Plain and simple half of the advertisements we see telling you that losing 25 pounds in several days is possible will guide you to eat foods with little or no salt, will guide you to do things that make you sweat a lot, and for the most part will help you lose 20 pounds of water weight that you will gain back faster than you got rid of. If you want to lose weight and keep it off just set your long term goals and be persistent.

Simple things you can do to aid this weight loss goal.

* Walk 15-30 minutes a day, doesn't have to be at a fast pace.

*Take the stairs not the elevator.

*Do 10 situps/pushups during commercials (muscles helps you burn fat faster)

*Drink diet soda, or no soda at all. One thing that helped me was I cut off all sodas and sugar based drinks and started drinking more milk and water. I still drank soda on occasion but to date I am not a fan of soda anymore.

*Eat 5-6 smaller meals spread out a few hours a part. Doing this helps keep your metabolism up and in turn helps you lose weight faster.

*Try a weight loss supplement. For a month or so I did try one and it did work...although the one I chose did get recalled after someone taking it died from kidney failure ....

those are just a few tips to help you. Remember that doing any simple physical activity will help you burn calories and in the end help you lose weight. I wish you ALL the best of luck if you are trying to lose weight, and I BEG you to just stick with it and set long term goals.
