Week 1 of my Weight Loss Challenge

Weight Loss Diary - Week 1

Hi, my name's Coral. I've just finished my first week of the Leisa's Secret 12 Week Weight Loss Challenge.

Let me tell you a bit about my story. I had seen Leisa's Secret on Today Tonight on Channel Seven a few times, and felt it was sending me a personal message, particularly when I heard about the 12 Week Challenge.

I thought it was the perfect opportunity to kick start my effort. I might have gotten a bit excited, but I called Leisa herself, and she suggested I keep a journal of my progress, and let other club members know how I'm going too.

As scary as the prospect was, I felt it was just what I needed to stay motivated and not ‘drop my bundle' after a few weeks. To be honest, I thought it was a good opportunity to get some personal advice and tips from Leisa herself too (don't worry, I'll let you in on them).

It's really important that I successfully lose my weight, for the sake of my health. My brother had a massive heart attack when he was 45. I'm 46, 110kg, and I've got a heart murmur, so I thought it was time to act, unless I want to end up the same.

I've got two teenage children who have just lost their father, my ex-husband, and I also want to make sure I'm around a lot longer for their sake.

Anyway, the good news is, I've lost two kilos in my first week. Only how many to go?

I put the weight on the way most of you probably have. I work in an office all day, don't get much time to exercise and I've been yo-yo dieting for years.

I've tried to lose the weight before, but....Leisa's Secret sounded good to me because the products seem unique. I thought it was worth a go. The only problem I've had so far, is just remembering to take the tablets half an hour before I eat, but I guess that will become a habit soon.

I've found that planning meals in advance is taking some practice too, but that's just a matter of being organized. I'm still getting used to limiting my choices and sticking to the book.

Apart from that, I've actually breezed through the first week. The week before I started on Leisa's Secret, I began riding my exercise bike, only about five kilometers five times a week. Now, I'm already up to 18km in 30 minutes, and that's my exercise Monday to Friday. Soon I want to introduce some walks on the weekends as well.

I've cut down on my alcohol, although I've never been a big drinker. I usually have a glass of wine or bourbon on the weekend, or a port!

Also in my future plan is to invest in a pair of digital scales so I can get really accurate readings on my Monday morning weigh-ins. I want to know the moment I hit my goal weight - 65kg - although I'd be happy with 70kg too.

Here's to weight loss success and hoping my second week will be as easy as the first.

Wish me luck.
