If you want to lose weight, there are, conventionally speaking, three things you need to have in order for your attempts to be successful.

You have to have:

  • Weight loss diet
  • Weight loss exercises
  • Rest

Your diet will give your body the nutrients it needs to perform all the tasks involved in burning fat and losing weight.

Your exercises will help your body increase its metabolism and therefore help you achieve your goals more easily.

Your rest will give your body the time to recover, which it sorely needs after all you are asking of it.

But there is one thing on the list that is missing. And that thing is ofcourse...

Weight loss motivation!

After all, a serious attempt at shedding those pounds is going to take you a few weeks. You need the discipline and motivation to keep it up for at least a few weeks!

Weight Loss Motivation

There's plenty of information to be found about diets and exercises... but those are only the physical aspects of a successful weight loss attempt!

What about the driving force behind setting this whole machine in gear?

Weight loss motivation is something that you can create out of nothing.

If you're not feeling motivated right now, don't sit around waiting for the feeling to come. It won't happen all by itself. You need to change your thinking!

Weight Loss Motivation Tips

In order to get the right mentality for your long term weight loss adventure, keep the following 5 tips in mind.

1. Master Emotional Eating

We all know what this is about. It's about the sad girl who's had her heart broken by men and now she locks herself in her appartment to eat insane amounts of Häagen-Dazs.

You need to become real honest with yourself here. You need to ask yourself the question "do I overeat when I'm angry or frustrated?".

There's a good chance that you have certain emotional eating triggers that you can indentify if you take the time to search your soul. Reflect on yourself and find out what's causing you to overeat, thereby stopping you from achieving effective weight loss.

2. Prepare For Peer Pressure From Pushy People

Every once in a while, you're going to run into one of those people who simply can't live with himself unless he/she sees you falling off the wagon.

This person will be pushing you, trying to get you to go off your diet just this once. But there is no 'just this once'.

Once you do it 'once', you'll do it again! Making exceptions is a surefire way to send yourself into a downward spiral.

When people can't stop pushing, you need to have a serious talk with them. Explain them in a calm and polite manner that you are making an attempt at real and effective weight loss.

A real friend will respect you for this and stop pushing. If the pushing doesn't stop, hang out with other, more supportive people.

3. Keep Track Of Your Progress

Write down your progress on paper. Or use a spreadsheet on your computer. It doesn't matter how you track progress, as long as you just do it.

Being able to look weeks or months back in time will remind you what you're doing it all for.

It will help you get a good view of the big picture of your weight loss.

You might think there is no progress in your fat burning attempts, but chances are... that there is!

The point is, you won't know unless you keep track of it.

4. Give Yourself Rewards For Accomplishments

If you are on a weight loss diet and you get to a certain milestone, make sure to reward yourself.

Naturally, this needs to be a non-food reward. It has to be something you look forward to. Something you enjoy.

The reward can be anything, really. It can be a new book, a new CD, a visit to the museum or a night at the movies.

There will come a time when the weighing scale numbers won't be fun to look at anymore. You can keep up your weight loss motivation by giving yourself treats!

5. Keep In Mind That This Is For Your Health

At one point, the slim you will be the new standard. Gone is the thrill of being complimented on your weight loss. Gone is the thrill of being able to go shopping for smaller clothing.

But don't ever forget of the fact that your weight loss has also made you healthier and probably looking younger too.

Just take a few moments to realize how you feel after losing so much weight!

Isn't it fantastic to be on a new level of health and vigor?

By losing weight successfully, you have lifted yourself to a whole new level of health, a whole new level of life quality!

Effective Weight Loss

If you keep yourself going by adapting this weight loss mentality, you are setting yourself up for massive success.

Don't forget, there is also an online community interested in hearing about your experiences and your successes.

Joining a weight loss forum or support group can create a healthy pressure on you to get actual results from one week to the next.

I highly recommend that you don't keep your weight loss to yourself. Spread it around as much as you can. The more people know about it, the better.

You truly are the Master of your own destiny!!!
