Everyone who has ever tried losing weight is constantly on the looking for the best weight loss program available. Lucky for us, or perhaps not, new best weight loss programs become available practically weekly if not even daily. They include everything from fad crash diets which only allow you to eat a certain type of food, to diets that only allow you to eat certain groups of foods, to diets that only allow us to drink, and so on and so forth. Apart from offering amazingly fast weight loss, the other thing that all of these diets have in common is the fact that they make us suffer. And that they are not healthy. However what is understood clearly by adults is perhaps not so clear to teenage girls and boys.

Especially teenage girls are often under extreme pressure to look a certain way, in other words, be skinny and therefore more attractive in the eyes of their peers and society at large. However, it is even more dangerous for growing teenage girls to engage in crash diets or diets that do not promote a healthy and well balanced meal plan.

The main component of any healthy weight loss program should be exercise, and regardless of what you hear elsewhere it is 30 minutes a day that should be spent engaging in some form of exercise that gets your heart rate up, be it cleaning, walking, jogging or simply shopping.

The other key to success when trying to lose weight and keep it off is changing your eating habits. This can best be achieved through a guided weight loss for teenage girls program, since such a weight loss program offers a structured way of achieving a change in lifestyle essential to losing weight and keeping it off. But don't worry, far from being forced to just eat a certain group of food in such a weight loss program, which is very unhealthy by the way, you should just make sure you eat a well-balanced diet. This kind of diet is advocated by doctors across the globe and includes eating fruits and vegetables at least 5 times a day, staying away from high-sugar and high-fat foods, and actually eating enough carbohydrate rich foods, since our bodies need this food group for energy of the kind that cannot be gotten from protein alone.

Remember, it is only safe to lose about 2 to 3 pounds a week from any diet especially in any kind of weight loss program for teenage girls. Of course the initial weight loss could be greater than that, since it is mostly water weight that you are losing in the beginning. The two keys to successful weight loss are daily exercise and eating a balanced diet, which includes drinking enough water. If you stick to both of them you will surely not only lose weight but keep it off too. Good luck!
