65or: Why Weight Watchers Points System does not suck big time
It's New Year. And it's New Year's resolutions. This is why two weeks ago my sister called me and asked me "how to finally drop 20 pounds as soon as possible, my little crank".
Okay. I hate New Year's resolutions. They are always about stop smoking and weight loss. People eat like two million calories over the holidays because "it is christmas and my last chance to ...bla.. in one week everything will change and ..bla.."
To turn this one into something useful: I know there are millions of so called experts telling you everything about weight loss just to sell their stuff. In my opinion, all you need to do, is to count calories (actually, only counting them is not enough). But most of the people hate counting calories. So does my sister.
Because it is all about calories and people don't like calories, Weight Watchers came up with this pretty nice idea of using points for food instead. Now you actually need a book with another tens of thousands entries for each food. When researching for my sister, I found this Weight Watchers Points Calculator which I think is more useful than an incomplete list. I don't like diets and especially commercial diets myself, but if one of these diets could be called reasonable, that it is the weight watchers system (no, they don't pay me for this).
I don't think my sister will drop 20 pounds. I don't even think she'll stick with weight watchers for more than three weeks - but at least there is 11 months to come before the next emergency call from your big sister...
