In life we face many decisions and have many choices to make. Do you wear this or THIS? Do we go here first or HERE? Do we choose the right thing?

We, as parents, are forced to travel through this game of life at least twice, once as the child, then as the adult parent. As a child decisions were not so tough to make. We just made them and went with the flow , and accepted the consequences that may have followed. As the adult (parent) choices seem a lot harder. We have to decide what is the right form of punishment. Do we choose to yell at the child or talk to them with a very calm voice?Do we choose to act just like the child and pick an argument with them? Do you choose to bring them up with the Christian background that you know they should have ? Do you choose to raise your child as you have been raised, this would include any punishment or abuse that may have happened to you as a child? If you are the child of an alcoholic or someone that decides to hit you with a fist versus a belt or hand , do you decide this too should happen to you child?

Life is truely about choices. You have the choice and the right to become who you want to be. A few years ago while attending a local festival, an elderly gentlemen, dressed in torn and ragged clothes, was walking around with a bag. He had this bag with pieces of notebook paper that were folded to make envelopes. Inside the "envelopes" were home-made christmas ornaments, with a note that said "smile God loves you" and a $1.00 bill. I had the choice to accept this gift , just as I had the choice to accept that God had sent his Son to die for my sins. As we do in life, a lot of people that day passed up "a precious gift", just because it wasn't packaged in pretty paper, or the giver may not have looked up to perfection. What about you, would you accept this gift from a complete stranger? If not would his appearance have played any part of your decision?
