Welcome to 'The World'
55WELCOME TO THE WORLD
~dream, despair and resolution~
If you are a fan of .Hack series and disappointed with .Hack/G.U. Vol 3: Redemption, you have arrived at the right place. Presenting specially to you the latest 'resurrected' version of the sci-fi game series, Vol 3: Resolution.
Welcome to the World.
A TAILORED VERSION OF .HACK/G.U. VOL. 3: REDEMPTION
Sadly to say the third release of the popular franchise video game 'Redemption' is a failed product and a big letdown to all the fans. I myself is a die-hard fan of this series until 'Redemption' is released.
Needless to say that the first two release ( 'Rebirth' and 'Reminisce') made a huge impact on the market and were a huge success. And to be frank I fell in love with this franchise series ( including the anime .hack/Roots) immediately after I played the Rebirth video games.
It is simply marvelous. The storyline are superb, full of suspenses and not to mention its revolutionary style of game play system. However, the prologue of the series is great but the the ending sucks * sad *. Here I would point out a few major weak spots of the third installation as compared to the previous two.
Utterly weak storyline * sob * The developer fails to narrate the whole story properly.
-AIDA and its menacing influence in the World. ( its origin, causes of outbreak, and why it is drawn to the players). The re-appearance of Cubia is really uncalled for. It has nothing to do with the series, none whatsoever. Also it is 'supposed' to be dead in the last series, and I mean... DEAD. Bringing it out undermines the whole story, causing confusion and disappointment to the consumers.
-Hetero Trio can be carved even deadly, actually. Apparently, the true potential of AIDA is gravely undervalued by the script-writer.
-No victory celebration for winning the title match? Well, it hurts...
Terribly stupid interactions between the so-called 'characters'.
-Yata The Great Teenager? Yata is very 'rich' and 'wise', or so they say and yet 'delicate' as well. ( as shown in his childish action by abandoning the World).
- Zelkova the Genius? He is not an Epitaph user and yet he knows so much about the secret of G.U. (For example, he can see the Avatar and acknowledge Haseo of the Data Drain.) And if he is that almighty ( the leader of Netslum Tartaga), why can't he fend off Sakaki in the Moon Tree incident? Also, remember the helpless moment of him being assaulted by AIDA in the dungeon? Besides, the fact that he knows the threat of Cubia just after the Rebirth incident makes no sense at all. If anyone were to know, it should be Ovan. But if Ovan knew it, he wouldn't initiate the Rebirth as it would potentially give rise to the worse Cubia threat!
- Ambiguous relationship. The story does not explain the rationale and motives of Ovan's action correctly. In fact, the debut appearance of Aina lays waste to the whole game completely. Ovan should be potrayed as a lonely wanderer in despair , and not a 'caring' brother who has attachment to his 'sister'. Apart from that, Saku cold-hearted betrayal and Tri-Edge can actually be branched off into another interesting storyline (which will be revealed in my coming edition of Vol 3: Resolution.*smile*)
-Sakaki. I question the resourcefulness of the cunning Sakaki. If I were Sakaki, I can torture Haseo even further by using the resources in my hands (like enacting 'sinister' rules in the Sage Palace Tournament. * grin *)
The Revelation. The Truth. The Future.
In my coming novel, the weaknesses of the current volume will become more apparent.
#Summary:
This installation in the series fails because of the following reasons:
-poor story plot (not convincing, confusing and illogical, just to name a few).
-weak interactions between characters.
and so much more....
