Werner Heisenberg
56Heisenberg was able to present in 1925 a system called matrix mechanics
Heisenberg was involved in trying to developing a mathematical system that explained the atom. With the help of Max Born and Niels Bohr Heisenberg was able to present in 1925 a system called matrix mechanics. This is now regarded as the beginning of quantum mechanics.
A quantum mechanical principle due to Werner Heisenberg states that it is not possible to simultaneously determine the position and momentum of a particle. Moreover, the better position is known, the less well the momentum is known (and vice versa). The principle is sometimes known as the Heisenberg uncertainty principle.
