61Western Wedding With An Eastern Touch
There are numerous aspects in our society wherein a fusion with other cultures is necessary to improve an already existing one. Such is the same with any western wedding wherein one may freely add in some eastern touches to give a nice hint of diversity.
Weddings from the west are usually characterized with horseshoe and cowboy hat themes. Even the design on the wedding cake itself may denote a horseshoe shape with the figurine of the bride and groom on top. The venue of the reception itself may be on an open air place such as a ranch or a covered field of green pastures. Whatever the exact theme may be, there is a striking description of the kind of culture that the newlyweds are living.
Still, there are some radical thoughts and imaginations which merit the need to combine the eastern influence with the elements that make up a western wedding. With an open mindset of accepting new things to incorporate, it only takes guts and an artistic touch to allow the complementing blend of the two.
For instance, instead of the usual cowboy jeans or corduroys which the newlyweds may wear during the wedding event, their wardrobe may be spiced up by using silk cloth with matching Chinese buttons along the side of one leg. This may give a smooth, elegant look with a touch of style as the usual rugged and casual wardrobe of western cowboy designs are replaced with silk. The same goes for the upper garment of the bride and groom, wherein the materials used would also be silk, with matching cuts inspired by Chinese culture. A Chinese collar at that would complement the square-shoulder cut of cowboy coats and jackets.
As for the food, different dishes from the eastern side may be added on the menu of the staple steaks, ribs, and trout. Curry, roasted suckling, and the like may be exotic to the taste of guests and patrons, but it could also work wonders as they may be able to rough up their taste buds and have a go with something out of the ordinary. Of course, this is quite risky, which is why planners and couples should carefully plan their extraordinarily themed weddings.
Flowers may also be used to accent the eastern influence over existing western wedding floral designs. Adding flowers such as orchids on tabletops and chair contours, or perhaps lotus blooms on mini pools, or fountain bases, or even scattered cherry blossoms if lucky enough to acquire them is a big twist to the usual style of contending with marigolds, roses, and other western flower types used.
The west and the east combined is a refreshing theme for any western wedding which gives a new meaning to any occasion.
