What is Creatine? Does it work?

Creatine

Creatine is actually already stored in the human body

(around 120 grams). Creatine is formed in the body from

three key amino acids glycine, arginine, and methionine.

Creatine directly effects adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

ATP is used by every cell in the body for energy and is

formed in the mitochondria. This is where your cells are

"powered up". Creatine is used to generate energy by

replenishing your ATP levels. Here's how this works:

When ATP loses a phosphate molecule it becomes

adenosine diphosphate, it must be converted back to

ATP to produce energy. When you take a creatine

you have more creatine readily available to convert

ADP back to ATP. This is why you have greater pump

and can produce more work in activities such as weightlifting,

sprinting, and other explosive sports. Creatine isn't very effective

in endurance sports. Creatine comes in a variety of forms

such as creatine chelate, creatine citrate, creatine monohydrate,

creatine phosphate, creatine ethyl-ester and liquid forms.

New studies are always being conducted on creatine,

here is a list of some new evidence they say creatine has on the body

1 .Helps stop the aging process through replenishing your ATP levels

2 .Improved brain function

3. Helps with sarcopenia

4. Helps with inflammation

5. Helps with muscle atrophy

6. Reduced fatigue

7. Treat gyrate atrophy

8. improves symptoms of parkinsons disease

9. Reduces homocysteine levels

10. Increases GH

11. Improves cardiac function

Who knows what the future holds, in the supplement

industry? I would say that creatine is worth a try.

interesting hub. Are there any studies on effects of external supply or feeding of creatine on human body?

Hello summer10, I'm am happy that creatine has had a positive impact on your life. It has remained on my list of supplements that I stillĀ have found useful throughout the years.

Hey pemsingh, those are some very good questions. I honestly haven't heard of any studies on external use of creatine. I am sure they will find a way to make the molecules act accordingly to get the desired results in the near future, if it has not already been done.
