Whenever you purchase a new dog there is always going to be an investment. You have to consider the purchase price, medical bills and even funeral costs. It is important to know and understand exactly what it takes to dedicate your money to your dog will really help you in deciding what dog breed to earn. Think about all the types of dog breeds … 150 of them to be exact. Many dogs require huge amounts of funds to maintain. There are some dogs that you can actually profit from if they are AK (American Kennel) registered.
Upstart for a New Pet Dog
Deciding on what kind of dog to buy usually starts with a family’s choice. Many of our ideas come from the neighbor’s dogs or even dogs seen on TV. The first thing is to understand how much a particular dog breed will cost and actually where you purchase a dog makes a huge difference. Puppies eat a lot of food and they need medical treatments to help keep them healthy, older dogs won’t require the same beginning cost but they need the same attention as a puppy. So, if you don’t have a sufficient amount of time or funds to invest in all the dog items that your new pet will need, you may want to think it through before making a purchase.
Should You Buy a Dog at a Pound or Kennel?
A great way to find a dog that costs less money rather than visiting a local pet shop is to search for a new cog at the local dog pound. Many dogs found at a pound are usually found playing in their dog pens. This is a great opportunity to pet a dog and even play with them while discussing with someone about the dog’s history. The dog pound is a great way to find a dog for less money. In addition, you will actually be saving a dog’s life from being put to sleep permanently. So, if you desire to purchase a dog from a registered AK owner or kennel this is a great opportunity to own a registered dog breed. There are many people who actually breed dogs to earn extra money; however, this shouldn’t be the sole reason to own a dog.
Medical Bills & Dog Insurance
Just like humans, dogs need medical attention as well. Dogs are considered to be more prone to accidents because of their inquisitive nature. Dogs face many dangers such as bug bites, poisons and extremely cold temperatures. So, making sure that your dog maintains a healthy coat is imperative. Fortunately, smaller dogs have cool dog clothes to keep them protected from annoying insects and other elements.
A primary benefit of having dog insurance is that it often covers veterinarian bills and even assists in paying for surgeries. One disadvantage of “not” having insurance can actually increase the cost of having a pet dog if he becomes ill or hurt. Additionally, most dog insurance policies will even cover funeral costs.
What Your Dog Needs To Be Happy
Keep in mind, if you decide to purchase a dog, you will have to have a sufficient amount of room for him to run around and you will need to build a fence around your backyard area and purchase a dog house. If you do not have a backyard, simply take your dog to a nearby park for him to run and play. Don’t forget to keep your dog on a dog leash!
Also take into consideration that your dog will need a sufficient amount of food and may even have to be placed on a diet. Make sure that you allow your dog to get checkups for heart worm and other ailments. Making your dog feel like they are part of your family and giving them a lot of love will help them grow up into happy and healthy pets.

The one thing that I would recommend when getting a puppy is definitely getting pet insurance. The reason is because a lot of companies do not cover pre-existing condition and the earlier you get insurance the more likely that your bill will be covered. It also isnt too pricey at all depending on what your deductible is.
