A question that has been asked for centuries, it has puzzled even the greatest minds of this world, scientist, professors and experts have all tried to answer the same question.

What came first the chicken or the egg?

Here are the two possibilities:

If the chicken came first it must have lay the first egg, but where did that chicken came from? is it an evolution of another animal? or did it came from the egg?

If the egg came first then the question is where did that egg came from? was it from another animal? how can a chicken come from another animal, if its a chicken then it must have come from a chicken right?

Now, I dont want you to lose sleep over this, but the question is fun to play around with, I personally dont know so lets see what some experts say:

Scientist believe it was the egg, why because the living organism inside the eggshell would have evolved into what is known as a chicken before it hatched, since DNA can only be modified before birth, so in other words evolution inside the egg.

But again, my question is what animal was responsible for that egg?..by now you probably have a headache but just how important is this question?

Well, this question revolves around the idea of how everything started, early stages or evolution and DNA modification during prehistoric times.

This is an example of cause and effect meaning that something cannot be done if the something before its not done first..confused?

for example:

  • A Teenager cannot get a car as they have no job, they cannot get a job as they have no car.
  • A Graduate can't get a job because they have no Experience; and can't get experience because no one will give them a job.
  • Fear of a recession causes people to spend less, which reduces demand, causing a recession.

As you see is cause and effect something cannot be done without the other. or when something its done it affects the other..

Chicken, Egg & Religion

Religion takes part in this question as well, although science & religion has always battled each other when it comes to the history of humans, and just anything in existence.

As the Bible states God created all plants, animals and the universe so one would think the chicken was created by God and then the egg came from the chicken

Also If the egg came first, there would only be one chicken and no rooster to mate with, so the species would only consist of one specimen making it impossible to reproduce. It would only cease to exist when the unique specimen in this case the chicken dies

So, God must have created both Hen and Rooster in order for the egg to exist, since a single chicken cannot lay eggs by itself.

So at the end the answer for the question can only be answer by you, what you believe is the answer.

Religion and Evolution can say one thing or two and try to proved it but your personal believe is the answer to the famous question.

So let me know in your personal opinion which came first?

Various answers have been formulated in response to the question, many of them...humourous...

I enjoyed reading this despite the fact that this question has been around forever - floating and never finding an absolute answer. That said, I'd say it was the egg that came first because it takes two chickens to make an egg and not just a or the chicken! LOL at least I tried to rationalize, right?
