What are Chakras?
Chakras is a Sanskrit word that means vortexes of energy. These are basically energy areas in our body. There are seven of them and they control different aspects of our human and spiritual lives.
The first chakra is the root chakra, which is red in color, is at the very base of the spine and the health, security, and sense of connection to the world is contained within this chakra.
The second chakra that one focuses on during chakra meditation and contemplation is the naval chakra, which is orange in color.
The third chakra is the solar plexus chakra, orange in color, and located at the solar plexus.
The fourth chakra is the heart chakra which is represented by the color green. It is the chakra of love, romance, relationships and communication.
The fifth chakra is the throat chakra and is the primary focus of communication and action. The color of the energy is blue.
The sixth chakra called the brow chakra, is located directly between the eyes and controls your third eye, your intuition, and the way you picture your future.
The seventh chakra is the crown chakra, which is violet in color, and is connected to the spirit and the mind.
A central energy channel, roughly analogous with the spine, is taken to be the strongest means by which chakras are connected to each other.

What is Chakra Meditation and What is it Used For?
Chakra meditation is a type of meditation technique that focuses all your attention and energy on your chakras. The main goal of this meditation technique is to balance out the chakra energies in your body.
When your chakras are balanced, you feel healthy in a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual sense.
You begin to realize that your physical health improves. Your mental status becomes clearer and happier as you let go of past hurts and sufferings in your life. Your spiritual life also benefits as you become more aware of your surroundings and your intuition. As you grown spiritually, you become more of an empath and communicate in a much more compassionate, tolerant, and kind manner with others.
When your chakras are not balanced, energy gets blocked in specific chakra areas of your body. This blockage of energy prevents you from truly being happy and ascending in your spiritual journey. These blockages of energy can even cause you mental and physical disease.

Practicing Chakra Meditation
Many people choose to listen to soft, soothing music or to listen to complementary music that is soft and relaxing while they practice Chakra meditation. This isn’t a requirement but is strongly recommended.
I personally listen to chants and soft melodic music when I do this type of meditation technique.
As you are meditating, it takes discipline and focus to concentrate on each of the chakras and to get rid of problems and bad energy that may be contained in them.
Note: Each different chakra may move in different directions so you should not try to guess what will happen or guide the direction in which the chakras turn. This is something that commonly frustrates people and in turn makes them lose focus while they meditate. Just breathe and sit in silence as you watch and feel with non-judgment.
It is commonly believed that as each chakra is activated and energized through chakra meditation, increased psychic and astral abilities will result until at last the crown chakra is reached. Still, don’t expect all these chakras to have a “clear” or “easy” feeling the first time you do this.
The first time you practice Chakra Meditation, you might actually have a very unpleasant experience. This happens to some of us that need to have a sense of control over everything. Chakra meditation can literally shake you off your feet in showing that you are not in control of what’s happening. In my personal experience with Chakra meditation, I was not even aware that I was doing chakra meditation and it was quite a terrifying experience.
One of the easiest to accomplish a really effective chakra tuning meditation is by using binaural beats. I've been using these binaural beats for a while and can honestly say my meditation experiences since I've been listening to them have completely changed. I now meditate more regularly and for longer periods of time without thoughts racing through my mind as frequently as before. I also get a very peaceful and content feeling that travels with me for a much longer time during the day.
Warning:You should not practice chakra meditation by yourself, especially if you are new to meditation. If you are interested in doing chakra meditation, make sure to find an experienced meditation teacher to guide you through it. The danger lies in situations where the energy flows from the blocked Chakra but flows too quickly… this caused me the biggest and most intense migraine I’ve ever had in my life. So please be careful in how you practice this type of meditation technique because it can be extremely intense. Yet, it is extremely beneficial and as you open up the blocked energies in your Chakras, the way you see life and the world in general totally changes! It’s a wonderful feeling.
