Chicago is famous for many things, but I'm only listing the few most obvious ones in this article. As one of the biggest cities in the United States, Chicago has a lot to offer to American culture.

This famous landmard is the place to see the best plays and acts in Chicago. The elegant theatre opened in October of 1921. Originally built to show silent films, this beautiful building quickly became home to live performances. The French inspried auditorium seats 3600 people.

The beautiful building now hosts such acts as bands like The Allman Brothers Band, Indigo Girls, and Blues Travellers, just to name a few. From comedians to musical productions, this gorgeous auditorium is a place you must visit.

This rock band formed in 1967 in…can you guess? Chicago, Illinois! The band is the second longest running pop/rock & roll band in the United States (the Beach Boys beat them). Today, the band is still together (with four if the six original members). With many hit singles and albums, Chicago has toured the world.

From politically influenced songs to ballads, it is hard to find someone who doesn’t like at least one of their many songs.

Chicago is famously known as The Windy City. Do you know why? There are a lot of different ideas and myths as to how Chicago got this nickname—it varies from weather to politics.

If you guessed it got the name from actually being windy, well you wouldn’t be wrong. Chicago is windy because of where it is geographically located and because of the way it was built on the grid system.

The city is rich in political history, so if you chose politics as your answer, you would be right too! In fact, many said that a lot of Chicago politicians are just “blowing a lot of wind.”

Built in 1914, this stadium is one of the most famous baseball fields in the United States. It is currently the home of the Chicago Cubs, and has been since 1916. If Wrigley Field makes you thinking of chewing gum (as it does me), you aren’t far off from the truth. Originally called Weeghman Park, then Cubs Park, the field was finally named after the Chicago Cubs baseball team’s owner: William Wrigley Jr. He was, indeed, the founder of the gum company.
