I'm not a great believer in "Conspiracy Theories" (Ha Ha) but I just thought that I would share this one with you and see what you all think.

Here in UK the decision was made to "Go Nuclear" in terms of electricty generation.

But the energy companies said that to make it economical the price would have to be X per unit and as at the time the decision was made the prices were around 30% lower than that -it wouldn't at this time be economical.

So what happens next?

The price of our energy goes up by approx 20% at one foul swoop.

Now as there are only about five or six companies supplying energy in Uk isn't it a bit surprising that all of them at the same time hike up their prices by about the same amount.

Now our prices are supposed to be monitored by OfGas or Of something or other--these are quangoes set up when the services were privitised.

So what are they doing about these massive price hikes.

Dont forget that inflation is only running at about 2 1/2% --thats what they tell us.

One would imagine that the monitoring bodies would step in and do something about these massive price hikes.

But surprise surprise nothing has been heard of them.

Maybe when the power companies publish their profit statements later on there will be an outcry--but I can't help feeling that they will be noticable by their silence.

Is the same sort of thing happening in the States or France or Germany or is it just in RIP OFF BRITAIN
