What Do You See Beauty In?
53
A Rose?
How about a large red or white rose that is showering its beauty on all who gaze upon it? Better yet, how about the joy you see upon the face of a person who receives a beautiful rose as an expression of love and appreciation? How does a simple flower communicate such pleasant emotions to the world around it?
A Deer?
How about a deer enjoying herself nestled in the snow in your back yard? Tall evergreen trees serving as a backdrop, as well as protection from anyone who might unexpectedly come upon her. Then there’s the sound of you opening your window blinds startling her – so you stop to watch her as she seeks the source of the sounds - it seems like forever. She settles down again, but she can’t stay too much longer because she knows that us humans are starting to awake. She seems so content sitting there in the snow in your back yard. Then, as if warned by Mother Nature, she gets up and walks off to her daytime hiding place among the far off trees.
Squirrels?
How about the squirrels in the park? They chase each other about as if playing an endless game of “tag you’re it”. They dart back and forth. They run from tree to tree, up and down, seemingly enthralled in such carefree fun…. How about happening upon a lone squirrel with a nut in their grasp? If you’re still and quiet, you can watch as he works diligently to consume his treat before your very eyes…
The Blue Sky?
Have you ever found the beauty in gazing upon a clear blue sky, dotted with huge, fluffy white clouds? What thoughts crossed your mind as you took it all in? Did you see any particular shapes in the clouds? Maybe an elephant, or a stairway to heaven or a mountain range? If you let your imagination go free, you probably can find all kinds of real, life-like images in the different shapes and sizes of the clouds. Go ahead, look up into the sky – can you find the beauty there?
A Great Grandson?
How about the beauty in this one? Your great grandson meets you at the door when you get home and sets your house shoes down in front of you. You’re not moving fast enough, so he grabs a second pair for you. Once you’ve convinced him that you only need one pair [I remind you, you still don’t have the first pair on yet], he wants you to pick him up so you can take him to get his ball so you both can play with it. You get him settled and play with him for awhile – he’s content for the moment. So, you sit down to relax for a moment, but he comes and grabs you by the finger because he wants to go up to your room. When you get there, he climbs up into your rocking lounge chair and points to the remote control – he wants to watch his favorite kid’s show on TV. When dinner is ready, you both go down to eat. He finishes first, then comes and sits on your lap to help you finish yours. What in life can be more beautiful than this?
These are a few of the things I see beauty in. So, if I may ask, what do you see beauty in?

Thanks Kimi...This world is still a beautiful place if we keep our hearts open. A special thanks to you for your love of working with special needs students.
Hi Joseph, a beautiful hub...every thing has its own beauty and I find that nothing is "pure" ugliness...
Warmly,
Jim
Ah, really enjoyed your hub. I can see beauty in all the things you mentioned especially in the grand kids. Each time I see them it's a new discovery of beauty, of their being, of their developing minds especially and the hope for them for things to come. Really enjoyed your Hub, your thoughts.
Thanks, Bill.. I appreciate your comments.
I see beauty in a baby's smile in a mothers arms. In Nature I see beauty in a rainbow. Wonderful hub.
Beautiful!!! I see beauty in everything and everybody has God created all of it!!:) Wonderful article. :)
Strange....this reminds me of my story about an old black man named ,Joseph. I see beauty in smiles.....playing children......every flower and every weed.....words of poets and writers....all that is color and all that is not.
Thank you....you wrote a good hub! :)

Hi MissJamieD,
Thanks for stopping by to check out my article.
I have a lot of squirrels in my back yard. The squirrels and I have become friends to the point where they come right up to eat from my hands (good thing I am a vegetarian). Anyway, its a real beautiful thing.
Great hub - thanks for sharing.
Hey jxb7076,
Yes, it is a good thing you are a vegetarian! I'm not sure what squirrel might taste like. Thanks for stopping by to check out my hub.
Great topic for a hub! very inspiring :)
Thanks, Ms Chievous, I did enjoy writing it.

I see beauty in many things but nothing quite touches my heart as when I see the light turn on in the faces of my students with special needs! It is the most awesomely rewarding experience ever! Aesthetically, I love deer spotting and sitting by a flowing river or stream. This brings me great joy. I loved this simple HUB and it definitely gets one to thinking of where they see the beauty around them.
