Your Reputation - Make Sure You Know What It Is

Do you know what your customers are reading about you? If you do not know - then you need to perform an "Ego Search". Simply put - search the Internet for your name and your business name. You might be surprised what you find. Whatever you find are the same things that your potential customers or clients will find when they search - and you can bet they ARE searching.

If everything you find is great, positive, encouraging, and will make your customers feel honored to do business with you and your company - then Kudos to You!

If you find rants, negative comments, or anything disparraging then you need to do some damage control.

You need to bury these negative comments so they are off the first page - and preferably off the second page of results as well. If you are proactive this can be done fairly easily.

The fastest way to see positive results is to use Social Marketing tecniques - this is something you can do to clean up your persieved reputation or just to promote your website or brand.

Make a profile with the negative search term at the following Social Sites -

* Twitter * LinkedIn * MyBlogLog * StumbleUpon * Digg * FaceBook * MySpace

These are the leading Social Sites - although there are hundred of different Social Sites available. These are the bare basic sites - if your niche or market has industry specific sites then add them to your list as well. Create the profile with the negative search phrase - so if you searched for your business name and found negative press then make the profile in your business name. Then invite friends to follow you. Every time a new person becomes your friend it creates new links and your profile will start to raise. This will push the older listings down. Join groups within the social sites - this will pass "link juice" as well. Also create a list of your profiles on your website - creating more links.

Get your good clients to write positive testimonials for you and post them on various profiles and online directories on the Internet.

The goal is to get the profile pages, articles you write, and positive testimonials to show in the search engines instead of the older, negative comments or rants. Search engines love new content and hate old, stale content. This is a great thing to keep in mind when dealing with your website as well. With some effort on your part and a little time it is very easy to "clean up" your reputation on the Internet and get clients coming to you - and that is what Attraction marketing is all about - customers coming to you.

If you do not have the time to invest in getting rid of negative comments about you and/or your business then it is worth hiring a professional to do this for you. Just imagine how many potential clients you are loosing by having less than favorable comments floating around on the Internet.

Keywords can be used to get rid of negative comments, and they can also be used to jump start your business.  By choosing less competitive keywords the results will show faster.
