What does a bed bug bite look like?  Many people dealing with bedbugs have asked this very same question.  On this page, I have included many photos of bed bug bites so that you can compare your bites to the ones in these pictures.  Keep in mind that everyone reacts differently to the bites, so your bites may not appear exactly like the ones in these photos.

There are other ways to tell if you are getting bit by bedbugs.  Are you getting bit constantly every night?  This is one of the main questions I ask people when I do a bedbug inspection.  If the answer to this question is yes, then you probably have an infestation.  You should also keep in mind that bed bugs bites do not always appear right away.  It is quite possible you will notice a bite on you in the middle of the next day.  These bites sometimes take a while to appear.  I once had someone answer this question by saying they got bit one time three weeks ago.  When she answered this way, I knew that she probably didn’t have bedbugs.  We never found anything at her house.

Bed bug infestations begin when an individual introduces them into the home.  If someone you know has bedbugs, you are at an increased risk to bring them into your home if that person visits your home regularly.  Many people will not discuss this embarrassing problem, so if someone has them, they may not necessarily tell you.

Other risk factors increase your chance of getting bedbugs.  People that travel regularly can easily pick them up at a hotel.  This is one of the most common ways to get them.  People who live in shared living conditions are more likely to get them as they easily travel from wall to wall once they infest apartments, dorm rooms, and hotels.

Hopefully this helps you determine if you have bedbugs. Once you determine that you have bedbugs, the next step is to figure out how to get rid of them.

Rent It Live Animals: Suffering (or benefiting) from the usual wintertime madness at our house, I find myself alone with the TV as the wife goes to bed at 9pm. See, she's got a cold, which I think gives us an unbroken three months of illness in the house, as bugs whip back and forth between her and our daughter, occasionally hitting me as well. Which has meant plenty of nights with everyone but ...
