What Does A Bed Bug Look Like

What does a bed bug look like?  Well, if you are reading this, you probably need to know because you think you have a bed bug infestation.  Am I right about this?

If you look to the right, you can see photos of bed bugs.  Bed bug bite pictures are also included in my little photo show here on this page.  There are a few main things you need to know if you think you have bed bugs.  You need to identify the bugs you find.  Do they look like the bugs in these photos?  If they do, then you probably have bed bugs. 

Another way to tell if you have bed bugs is by the bites you get while you sleep.  If you do not get bit while you sleep at night, it does not necessarily mean that you do not have bed bugs.  Your skin may not react to bed bug bites the way that many people do.  I have personally witnessed this strange phenomenon in my inspections.  I have seen many cases where a husband and wife sleep in the same bed every night and only one person gets bitten.  The other spouse never complains about bites. I can assure you that both the husband and wife are getting bitten, but one of them doesn’t react to the bites.

Another analogy to this example is mosquito bites.  Have you ever noticed how some people are ate alive by mosquitoes while some people barely notice anything?  The same phenomenon occurs outside in the summer time as does with bed bugs inside the home. 

Also like bed bugs, the bites are itchy and appear like red welts or bumps on the skin.  The symptoms are very similar to mosquito bites.  Be sure to check out the bed bug bite pictures here on the page. 

Once you can answer the question of what does a bed bug look like, you can then identify if you have them.  Once you identify that you have them, you can begin the process of getting rid of them!
