This article talks about hemorrhoid pain and what does a hemorrhoid look like. According to statistics, almost 90% of Americans experience hemorrhoid pain at some point in their lives. Hemorrhoids can develop into a more serious condition if not treated immediately so it is important to take early and effective treatment methods and prevention in order to eliminate hemorrhoid pain and prevent it from recurring.

Some factors that cause hemorrhoids are chronic constipation, aging, pregnancy, diarrhea and anal intercourse. There are two types of hemorrhoids – internal and external and it is important to determine the type of hemorrhoid you have because the treatments for each type are different. Furthermore, the condition is categorized into four degrees, depending on the seriousness of hemorrhoids. This way, the condition can be easily assessed for proper treatments such as the possibility of surgery.

Internal hemorrhoids are veins inside the anal area while external hemorrhoids are outside of the anus. The external type is known to cause more pain because internal hemorrhoids do not have pain-sensitive nerves. Though internal hemorrhoids are not painful, they can cause bleeding. Excessive pressure due to bowel movement can tear internal hemorrhoid’s delicate surface, causing bright red blood to appear.

Pain, bleeding and itching can be experienced with external hemorrhoids. This type of hemorrhoid is located outside the anal area and seems to be bluish in color and when it becomes inflamed, it turns tender and red.

Hemorrhoid pain can cause discomfort and irritability especially when left untreated. It is essential to make some changes to your lifestyle and most probably your diet to prevent hemorrhoids. Make sure to consult your doctor in order to evaluate your condition and determine the type of hemorrhoid you have before administering any treatment.

Hopefully this short article is able to show you what does a hemorrhoid look like and give you tips and ideas how to deal with hemorrhoids.
