What Is A Garbage Hub?
52
I read something in the forum’s today that inspired me to write a hub about this topic. Now I am not going to mention any names but there is a fellow hubber who is rather new to hubpages, and he started a topic in the forums about garbage hubs. I don’t know why people feel the need to call someone else’s writing garbage or junk, and as your reading this hub you may say to yourself that this is junk and that’s fine if you do but don’t go and be so arrogant that you feel the need to write a forum article that basically states that you may be new to hubpages but you are not new to writing and you know garbage when you see it. How do you that the person’s hubs that you are calling garbage doesn’t have a disability and is just doing the best that they can on a hobby that they really enjoy? Your probably right and they are just writing some crap to try and make a quick buck but the point is that you don’t know that, and you do have the right to speak or write whatever you feel like to a certain degree I’m just saying that regardless of how you try and justify it you are new to hubpages and your starting off on the wrong foot.
I don’t think that you should be calling anyone names like spammer and so forth, for all they know you could be a spammer. That should be left up to the staff that work for this site not you and judging by the way you judge people, I would sure hope they never give anyone like you say so over this site because that would just go to show that anytime someone writes a hub or article that is not up to your standards you will automatically judge it based on the hub rather than that hubber as a person. What you should be concerned about is making sure that there is truly no nudity, profane language, or anything that would be considered non-appropriate not picking on some ones hubs just because they are new to writing and are not as so called experienced as you.
I love to write but I’m not very good at putting my words or thoughts on paper and addressing them as I properly should, but I have come to realize that every time I sit and start typing my thoughts on the computer I feel so much better once I’m done knowing that I no longer have to carry that burden around with me anymore so it’s something that I have always came back to. Now I respect the fact that we all have the right to speak our minds freely just as I’m doing know but I read in some of the comments and you were getting down right angry that some of the people who left comments had negative things to say toward you. Well dough what did you think they were going to say? Did you really think that they were just going to sit back and leave comments like “yes master I agree with you were not worthy” come on dude you opened the can of worms now don’t get all huffy puffy when someone express’s there freedom of speech toward you.
As far as I’m concerned I was under the impression that hubpages was a free website were people could express there thoughts and make a little money doing it at the same time. I’m sorry if I can’t write as good as other author’s out there but I don’t intend to I’m just here to have a little fun writing and I’m not about to let anyone ruin that. Whether you agree with me or not comment because I believe you have the right to write whatever garbage you want and not get possibly labeled as a spammer.

thanks for the comment hugh, its much appriciated.
Don't let anyone's negative comments get you down. If you love to write, you just keep on going and keep on enjoying. There's no such thing as a perfect writer, and I would rather read something that was written because the person is passionate about their subject and loves writing!
It's taken me a while, but I'm close to my 100th hub now, and I can assure you that I am a better writer now than when I started. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and your content got my attention! HP is about building up and not about tearing down. I agree with the other posts here. Welcome to HP, from your newest fan!
cmhypno and wannabwestern,
thanks for the comments, and for being my fans
You are spot on mate I reckon my garbage is as good as the next guys, well said. ;-)
The term "garbage Hubs" is usually applied to Hubs that say very little, and have links to other websites, so it's obvious the person has only created the Hub to promote something else, and can't be bothered making any effort. The intention of the writer is usually pretty transparent. I've never accused anyone of writing garbage Hubs but I can understand why some people feel the need to say something.
A badly written Hub won't necessarily be called a garbage Hub - usually, you can tell if a person is sincere, even if he/she can't write very well. For instance, your sincerity comes across strongly in this Hub - the fact that the formatting and grammar could be improved really isn't relevant.
Its nice Rastrother. Really we don't have any right to criticize or to force anyone to look down. Moreover its not our job to decide what is useful and what is Garbage. I think hub editors do their jobs efficiently.
respect seems to be lacking in all areas of the world now a days.
you got that right brother
Agree with WTucker. if people want to stick around, they should be polite - good hub rastrother.
Constructive criticism helps us all to become better writers...But calling certain Hubs garbage is subjective and valueless as a critical commentary...
You got problems with a Hub..? Then express your concerns in the comments section in a manner that will enlighten, encourage, and provide a positive platform for him or her...
Your comments about not knowing whether a person has a disability, or is just writing about a passion they may have, and may not express themselves in a grammatically correct manner, is sufficient reason to not prejudge original work...I love reading Hubs that express passion, honesty, and wit....Sometimes I just ROFL when a hubber that has English as a second language, uses some American colloquialism in a unique manner...I love skimming HubPages every morning and always find something interesting, funny, or touching, like a sweet poem....Larry

I totally agree with you, we should be giving people encouragement rather than criticism. Everybody has to learn.
