What Is Acne?

So what is acne? For the most part one of the most painful experiences you will ever experience. The lucky ones only suffer from this dreaded disease for a couple years while the unfortunate can suffer for many, many years. Some as many as forty years. Could be bacteria or something similar that build up in the skin thus resulting in some awful sores.

They usually develop bumps full of puss that not only hurts like hell on the surface but in many cases are also very damaging to how a person feels about themselves.

People with severe acne can have hundreds of sores that create pain that is almost too much to handle. Not to mention the stares and rude comments they have to endure. Many very cruel nicknames have been used by people making fun of acne sufferers even though the culprits know nothing about the person or the disease.

What Is Acne?-Where Is It?

When you ask what is acne you should also be asking if the dreaded disease needs to be treated or how to deal with it.

There are no hard fast rules on why acne happens. all we do know is there are several reasons for it happening. In anything from flat tires to acne the conditions need to be right for something to take place.

When talking about acne it all mostly happens within the pores of the skin. Pores are very small holes that are all over the skin. They allow the skin to breathe.

The fact of the matter is oil from your body that is used to keep skin moist collects in these pores. The oil isn't the problem but rather any dirt that gets in and mixes with these oils. The dirt, if not washed properly collects and starts to build bacteria which in turn starts to fester and create bacteria and the turns into the disease we know as acne.

What Is Acne? What Is Treatment?

So what is acne and what the heck do we do for treatment? There are several things to do. I will briefly touch on some here and in future hubs get into a lot more detail.

The thing with treatments is you are more likely to experience success if you use more than one treatment combined.

The first thing you need to focus on is making the bacteria disappear. You do this by constant washing and exfoliating through treatments that can be bought over the counter or that can be prescribed by a physician.

Then there are the famous lasers that so many talk about. Well these are great except for the fact that things still have to be right in order for laser therapy to work. The nice thing is once you figure out what works and get a bit of control your skin will eventually become healthier and easier to manage.

So I hope this brief hub helped you to understand a little more. I will be writing several hubs to hopefully answer all the questions that fall back to What Is Acne.
