What Is The Number One Environmental Crisis
56The Heart Of The Environmental Crisis
The world today is facing a shortage of food. If the food is not in short order, it is riddled with antibiotics, plus unsanitary conditions. (See John Hopkins report.)
There is a balance in nature because it is needed. It takes time to reproduce, no matter what the species happens to be that is reproducing. Plain and simple, take in the larger picture of what you know, read and hear about on the news, television, or other resources.
Do you have a mental picture? Now, back to the original question…
What is the biggest environmental crisis?
As the consumer of fresh, delightful, colorful, and succulent meats, we as a species waste more products then we consume. Now think about it for moment and analyze it as best as possible.
Examining the Oceans
We hear about the over fishing of the once mega populated areas for shrimp, shark, oysters, bass fish, and everything else in the oceans, streams, lakes, rivers – whales, dolphins, trout – etc. etc. Well, why do we over fish? How is this possible? What is that driving force?
Okay, well, for starters we over fish for more money.
Secondly, when the food is not fresh anymore, because it is over-priced and different people like different things, it is thrown out. Pitched. History. Another unsold fish, shrimp, shark, oyster, bass fish, whale, dolphin, trout – that was not eaten – though it was harvested for consumption.
Thirdly, the driving force is the fact that as the consumer, we have been spoiled into having fresh. Though most of us are eco friendly now, consumption habits have not changed.
Examining the Land
Okay, this really goes without going into a lot of detail simply because – well there are news reports everywhere! The reports talk about the sky-rocketing pollution and decimation of top soil and overall nutrients that are history from our diets because we have yet to come to grips with preserving that which gives us life.
But…this has the exact same tall tale signs of the ocean creatures we consume. When the food is not sold during a specific time – the food is pitched. History. Gone. No More. Trash.
Ah, the ultimate environmental crisis is our own ignorance of not taking care of each other, all in the name of a dollar.
This is why even if you are eco friendly or you are environmentally aware of your surroundings, things like this will beat us into the ground with death and disease.
Now think about this.
Examine the Global Climate Change and statics that the governments of the World, have yet to fully share because it would mean money loss. I mean they already know how many starve a year, and what the projected growth will be, but no one has stopped to wonder (or ask) why would they keep such figures?
What we know, without being a doctor or environmentalist or any other expert, and just being US. Let’s look at one perfect example.
We know (as a species) that our vitamins and supplements come from nature. All of it comes from nature in some form. We just happen to put a sprinkle and dash together different ingredients, for a more powerful component.
What have the physicians been warning about when it comes to medicine, those pills that come from nature?
The natural evolution of viral and bacterial disease (a.k.a. the superbug), that is not combated with known medication. We wasted or did not follow the directions. We have polluted our waters, our environment (leave a pill down or drop it outside, a bird/animal/child will eat it), and we have opened ourselves to an evolution that happens swiftly. Sometimes, just sometimes, those virus or bacteria will evolve so quickly that death is within hours of exposure. (The superbugs are cataloged in science labs with Levels 1, 2, 3, 4. Check out the CDC.)
Overall
Take a look around. And when you look around, realize that this is a big world, of course with a lot of problems, but if change is going to happen – examine what you see in front of you every day. Enjoy what you have but help others to be able to enjoy it too. Quit wasting the food that is becoming harder and harder to come by in the oceans or on land. Examine, and don’t get/be afraid, just decide for yourself if you are continuing to contribute.
Plus, one more thing, before the food is spoiled and moldy, before further over harvesting is done, feed a shelter. Yes a shelter. (Think and look at the piles of food with an expiration date.) I wonder how many grocery stores/chains/ and fresh markets would get on board to help their local areas in need. How about that? It would be unheard of… think about why. Yes, that vicious cycle.
So, only you can make and take that small step.
