Many people talk about credit score this credit report that but many people are actually unaware of what is a bad credit score. Why do some people get turned down for financing, loans and even jobs but other people do not?

Having a good credit report is a very important part of todays life for every adult person over the age of eighteen. Even if you think you will never have the need to borrow money or take out loans your credit score can still affect things you may not have considered.

Today your credit score is used to determine everything from jobs, apartment rental qualification and credit cards. Even your car insurance rates are based off of credit scores. Yo may even get denied a cell phone contract as well, all because of a bad credit score you did not know you had.

There are three credit reporting agencies in America and the are Equifax, Experian and Trans Union. Together these three agencies gather data and generate your credit score on your credit report. The credit scores range from 350 all the way up to 850.

If you have a credit score that is between 350 and 579 you have what is considered a bad credit score and you will need to more then likely start some type of credit repair campaign to get it higher. You can either attempt to do self credit repair or hire a company to do it for you. Just make sure to hire a reputable company so you do not get ripped off.

Or in some cases you may have a low credit score because you do not have any established credit for the companies to base a score off of. In this case you may have to contact a bad credit loan company and take out a small loan in order to establish credit activity. You can also try rent to own centers as they often will loan to people with no credit or very bad credit. The only drawback is that you will have to need something they sell in order to get the loan from them.

Knowing your credit score is very important and if you are unsure what your credit score is you can order a copy of your credit report online. This maybe a good idea for you as it will eliminate potential frustration when looking for a loan apartment or insurance!
