By What Is Best

Sock monkeys have been bringing kids joy for decades now.

What goes into a sock monkey is not much of a mystery. It is yarn, thread, buttons, and stuffing. And there is a great deal of leeway you have in the way a sock monkey can look. People are familiar with the sock monkey with red lips, but really, once you get your sock monkey pattern, you need not follow it to a tee, as far as yarn color goes. And where to find sock monkey patterns? You might find one in a knitting book, but there are patterns in a number of places on the Internet. Just search and go, and you will be all set. Beware though, sock monkeys are as fun for kids today as they were in the 1920s.

So, what is the best sock monkey? Simply, it is one you make yourself, with love.
