Before you recycle, please make sure with your local recycling company what items can be recycled and what items can’t be recycled. When you put materials together for recycling, please see in the end they need people to sort out the items. So, if we do the things right it will make it easy for everyone later.

Here is a sample list of things you can recycle and the things you can’t recycle. I got this information from my local recycling center.

THINGS YOU CAN PUT IN A RECYCLE BIN:

• Newspaper
• White paper
• Green, brown and clear glass
• Corrugated cardboard
• Paperboard such as cereal boxes, shoeboxes
• Plastic bottles
• Aseptic juice boxes
• Gable-top paper cartons such as milk cartons
• Metal food cans
• Aluminum beverage cans
• Aluminum foil (no food residue)
• Six-pack rings
• Magazines
• Junk mail and catalogs

THINGS YOU CAN’T PUT IN A RECYCLE BIN:

• Yogurt cups
• Margarine containers
• Frozen food trays
• Plastic wrap
• Plastic bags
• Styrofoam
• Phone books
• Stamps and stickers in junk mail
• Pizza boxes
• Plastic bottles that contain oil or hazardous substances

Recycle, but do the right thing. If you are not recycling, please do, even a little contribution will help.

It is not hard to recycle; you can make it a habit and do the wise thing for you and your children’s future.
