72Retirement is the act of retiring or withdrawal from one's occupation, business, or office. Retirement is the time when a person stops employment completely. But, retirement doesn't have to mean sitting around the house all day. Some people think that once they retire, they will be bored because they have nothing to do. Actually it is very difficult spending time after retirement.
There are many ways and activities that you can get involved with once you are retired and keep yourself busy. Retirement is the time when you don’t have to worry about going to work every day but can do whatever you want. Simple retirement plan and best retirement idea can make your senior life more enjoyable and comfortable.
1. Employment and Re-Employment:
Why should you work during retirement?
People cannot live without work for long time. We are born to do something. Your lifestyle will not permit you stay without doing anything. Also this re-employment will give you regular flow of money. But at this stage you will work on a part time basis, not full time.
You can either return to the place of employment from which you have retired or you can find a new job. But finding a job as an older worker is not easy. You may need to get some training in order to adapt to the changes in the market. Check out the AARP web site. This web site is for the people age 50 and over. They provide job training, job searching, staying employable to low income people over age 55 and over.
2. Volunteering:
If you do not need to earn money than you can choose to be a volunteer. As a human being and a senior citizen you have the responsibility to serve for the mankind. Your contribution to the society through expertise and talent can make the world better place to live. You can find volunteering job in Senior Corps and VolunteerMatch.
3. Join with a Retirement Community:
The benefit of joining a retirement community is that you can get involved in new activities you have never participated in before or you can do those activities you enjoy most but haven't had time for. Many retirement communities have the facility of playing tennis, bingo, bridge or other sports activities. Retirement Community at Wikipedia. or search Google.com for your nearest retirement community.
4. Learn Something:
What you can learn at the time of retirement? You can-
1. Learn a foreign language.
2. Take an online course.
3. Learn a particular degree study.
4. Learn about the animals.
5. Achieve a college degree.
6. Enrich your knowledge about anything you have interest.
5. Make a Hobby:
Make a new hobby at your senior age. You may collect coins, stamps of different countries, paintings or whatever you want. You can find and collect things in eBay,
it’s very easy and simple to find anything in eBay. eBay offer a wide variation of different stuffs for anyone and it has a very simple interface to use.
6. Go on Vacation:
Work is not everything. Take a long needed break and go on vacation, visit the Island, Sea Beach, Mountain, Forest, Grand Canyon and Wild life whatever you wish to see.
Retirement is the perfect time to go on vacation you couldn't go on before. This will also enrich your knowledge and fresh your mind.
There are lots of other activities that you can do during your retirement. Don’t waste your valuable time. Search for activities which attract you and give you more pleasure. We should involve our senior member to some sorts of jobs, otherwise they will feel bore in life and life will be a burden for them. That is more painful than die.

Very good ideas. My grandma couldn't keep away from working and after retiring she started doing voluntary work at a school. Eventually the school employed her full time and she worked there another 10 years or so!
