What a Day for College Football Upset!
50The Buckeyes Go Down!
This was the most unexpected loss this Saturday. The Ohio State Buckeyes actually ended their undefeated run against Illinois. I could go into what this means and how things are going to rank now, but that is what everyone is talking about on TV.
The question is, how did this happen? Well, it can not be argued that the OSU schedule was very easy this year. Their early season was very boring to watch. It was just one blow out after another.
The team would have been stronger if they had more challenges this year. Tonight's game would have had less pressure and more control if they were ready for a team like Illinois.
Jim Trussel has always been good about not letting his team underestimate the opponents. However, in this case, I do not thing that undestimating was the problem. The problem was that the team did not know how to step up when they were down.
Now, this has been an odd season with so many teams losing, as aposed to last year that had so many undefeated teams. Michigan has reached another upset, and their first in the Big Ten. Michigan and Coach Carr have a history of completely blowing games and giving up at the end. It was very apparent in this case. They also have a hard time finding a great new quarterback. They always train someone to be a highlighted player, but there is always the time inbetween new quarterback and Heisman runner.
We will see if there are anymore big upsets inline. I am sure that Michigan and Ohio State hold the biggest upsets of this year.
