I actually did this for my wife and she loved it. In these electronic age of quick communications and email there's something magical about snail mail. I bought a beautiful note card and wrote how much I appreciated my spouse and reminded her of all the synchronistic accidents which had to happen for us to meet and I wrote our address (with no return address) and mailed it to her.

You should have seen her face when she opened the love letter and in time realized it was from me.You can leave notes for your children to find too. Remember it has to be surprising so don't do it all the time.

Another way to show your loved ones (spaouse, children, paraents, siblins, friends) is to speak in their mental language. That's to say some people are visual and they want to be shown love, and others are auditory and they need to hear that they are loved, yet another group are primarily kinesthetics (phydical feelings and sense of thouch) and need to be touched, massaged fed and such.

Remember much better than the golden rule which states that you should treat  others as you would like to be treated is the platinum rule which states,  "Treat others as they would like to be treated." Don't be shy. Ask, "How can I show you that I love you?"
