anatomically the foot should have the three arches, that is , medial lateral and longitudinal arches, the bones forming these arches are held together by tendons and ligaments, walking long distances and carrying heavy loads might result into sharp pain in foot ,pressure exerted on foot disarrange the foot bones which presses the nerves hence causing pain, so its better to examine the shape of your foot (flat foot is one of the symptoms)
