Steak Recipes

You are at this Hubpage because you want a few steak recipes. However, a good steak does not need fancy seasonings, sauces and various cooking methods to taste good. It is only the cheap steak that needs to be covered up with marinades and other spices. For example, if you’ve gone to a restaurant such as Denny’s and have ordered a steak, you will notice that they will cover up their steaks in butter or sauce. The reason for this is because the steak that they prepare for you is usually a cheap cut such as a sirloin and tends to be very chewy and tasteless. On the other hand, if you’ve gone to a restaurant such as Ruth Chris, you will notice that they prepare their steaks with no sauce. However, at steak houses, you can order toppings and sauces on the side.

So how should a steak be prepared? First, you have to choose a good steak. Yes, this means you might have to pay more for your steak, but sometimes you have to splurge. Moreover, how many times do you eat steak? If you are not a big meat eater, then you should definitely choose a good cut and a high quality steak. A good steak should have marbling throughout out the steak. What is marbling? Marbling is when there are white lines or streaks of white throughout the steak. The “white lines” are fat which will increase the flavor of the meat when cooking it. Don’t worry; a lot of the fat will drip off the steak depending on how you prepare it. If you are going for cost but still want a good quality steak, then buying a nice juicy ribeye is by far the best bang for your buck and the best tasting piece of meat for the price.

The best steak recipe is to be a minimalist with your piece of meat. A good quality steak does not need that much seasoning and overdoing it will only leave you with a mouthful of sauce, not steak taste. If you are going for broke and don’t care about getting fat, then a tasty way to cook your steak is in the frying pan. First, score the steak with a knife to add little cuts inside the meat of meat. Next lightly salt and pepper each side of the steak. While you are seasoning your ribeye (or whatever cut of you meat you have), preheat the frying pan and add a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of oil. The reason that you want butter and oil is so that the butter does not burn in the frying pan (because the frying pan needs to be super hot before cooking the steak). Adding butter and oil will ensure that your steak does not burn and will give it an extra “kick” to enhance the steaks natural taste. Besides, you won’t die from eating a fried steak once in awhile. Just make sure not to eat red meat all the time and to go for a nice long walk after dinner.

If you think that frying your steak is way too much fat for you, then you can also try charbroiling your steak. Preheat your oven to broil and use a broil pan to cook the steak. Stick it in and make sure to have a cooking thermometer handy to determine how well you want your steak to be cooked. Again, score the meat with a knife and lightly season the meat with sea salt and cracked pepper.

Lastly, if you want to get outside and cook, then what better way then grilling your steak over an open flame. Personally, I prefer to use a charcoal grill as it adds another dimension to the taste of my steak, but a gas grill works just as fine. Again, use the same preparation instructions as before (simple is better!) and make sure to have a thermometer handy so you can prepare the steak to your personal preference (medium rare is the best).
