What are the different types of swimming strokes?

Swimming is one of the best workouts that you can get for your entire body. It does not only focus on one muscle group, but all of them and is also a great cardio workout. There are many different swim strokes that one can use to move across the water with the least amount of resistance. It is important to keep your form with swimming and to try to keep any splashing to a minimum.

The basic types of swimming strokes include Backstroke, Breast Stroke, Butterfly Stroke, Crawl, Doggie Paddle, Freestyle and the Side Stroke. If you are interested in learning how to do different types of swimming strokes you do have a few options. First, you could contact a swimming instructor who could assist you on learning the proper techniques for each stroke that you would like to learn. Also you could looks up images, which can show you what each stroke looks like.

Some swimming strokes are more difficult than others to learn. It is important to remember that you may not be able to do one right away, but with practice you could perform it flawlessly.
