A yard sale is a fantastic way of meeting some unfamiliar faces and exchanging valuable possessions. One person's junk is another person's treasure, you may have heard. Spring cleaning can cause you to realize that you may be overloaded with things that you do not really need. which could be a good reason to have a garage sale. It can help you to solve the problem of having too much things yet too little space.

So what exactly should you sell? This could be a tricky question. You may have a ton of things to get rid of. But ask yourself, is this something that can still be useful for someone else? Well that could be hard to decide since for you the item has lost its value. However, think about it. Anything that you have used but is still in fairly good condition may get the chance to be in your garage sale. Some good examples are books, music CD's, clothing, art kits, and children's toys.

But do consider, people do not like things that have become a fad. So even if you have toys that can be given down. Remember, if it is, say a Cabbage Patch Kid doll, people may not be drawn to buying it. Nonetheless, antique items are a different story. If you have an item that has been given down by your ancestors and appears to be quite a rare find where you are living, you can probably sell it at your garage sale. That is, if you are willing to give it away and you do not really want it anymore.

People are always hunting down for bargains. So anything is good to go, however you should sell it for a fairly reasonable or a low discounted price. After all, you have used it or the item has lost it's value for you. So it isn't fair to charge the buyers a price that is close to which you have purchased the original items for.

Garage sale can be an exciting event for both you as a seller and the buyers. Many people love to hunt down flyers that call for a garage sale just so they can get their hands on a still useful but cheap items. So what are you waiting for, if you want to make some extra cash and want to stay in the comfort of your own home while doing it, run a garage sale! Similar to running your own shop, though for a limited time, you don't have to face the hassle of store renting costs and expenses.

It was a good article and it did list stuff to sell, "Some good examples are books, music CD's, clothing, art kits, and children's toys." and it mentioned antique items.

Me and my BFF are holding a double yard sale because we need $300 each for a choir trip to Aneheim. We need help on pricing. For example, i have eight mini tubs of play dough. Should I sell them all for $8 or $4? THX!

Yard sales are a great way to make money. You could sell children's books for 25 cent, CD's, DVD's and computer games for 75c, TV's (colour and in good condition) with remote can sell for $5 - $25, old, mix and match toys can be jumbled into plastic bags, stapled and sold as mystery bags for 25c etc etc. Good condition leather sofas can sell for up to $50 and cotton sofas can sell for up to $40 (I don't care what you paid for it). Also, surprisingly enough, pokemon cards can sell for up to 50c per card as recently kids have been collecting them.
