63Travelling with children
Travelling with children can be difficult and I suppose the first thing is to not put them through a long haul flight as this can irritate them and is a bad start to your holiday.
A journey a couple of hours away is normally suitable and then you need to take a look at your accommodation and what is on offer. As parents you really need a break sometimes and some hotels offer a childrens club, this is where you can drop your kids off for a couple of hours a day and they can play and meet other kids who are on the complex too. Check the facilities of these hotels to ensure the safety of your children and make sure there are plenty of adults to children because some hotels only have 1 or 2 staff looking after 20 or 30 children!!
Check that there is a lifeguard on duty at all times in the event he/she may fall in. Not all hotels with pools have lifeguards so it is definately worth checking. Also check what kind of meals are available for kids, children can be fussy eaters and the last thing you want is for them to upset because the food is not good enough.
Remember it is your holiday too so find the best hotels that can offer you some time to yourself so you can enjoy your time abroad too. There are hotels that offer good facilities for children but check them out with your travel agent to make sure your child will be safe.
Hope this helps!
