• sexual abstinence
• safe period selection
• intrauterine non hormonal device
• sterilisation surgery for females and vasectomy for men

 abstinence  is very  difficult  to adapt  and  might   jeopardise  relations.  one cannot  plan  or  anticpate the need for sex  of themselves  or  their  partner
