Those who will read your information will be more likely to be able to relate to you as a person instead of just words on a page. Personal branding is also very important if you are looking to become an expert in your specific field or multiple fields. We can all look at a picture of certain people and know who they are instantly. While the internet is a very large place adding your picture to your profile can brand you as someone with good information.

Just as a picture can be powerful it can also be dangerous. You are signing your thought and ideas with a picture of you. It is important to treat anyone and everything online just as you would in person. If you are a younger looking individual adding your picture could be a detriment to your credibility because of perceptions.
