What are the side effects of having a hysterectomy before you are 35? What the doctors don't tell you.
59Effects of hysterectomy...
Hello hon...well, I had a total hysterectomy (everything out), when I was 29 years old. Although the initial couple of weeks after I was very sore and in alot of pain, the only real problemsI have had is the hot flashes and weight gain. But, every person is different and everyone's body reacts differently to the surgery. My mother was 29 when she had hers, and she only had to deal with the hot flashes, she actually lost weight instead of gain it like me. One thing I have heard women complain about also after thier hysterectomies is lack of sexual desire and being dry(not getting lubricated like normal) for intercourse. Of course, me being the oddball, as I usually am, I don't have either of those problems either. I think I actually have more of a sex drive than I did before. Either way, if you have a choice, choose NO. If not, then, really ,until everything is said and done and you are on your road to recovery, you really won't be able to tell how it will turn out for you. One really really good thing about having it is...NO MORE PERIODS!!! (if you have a TOTAL hysterectomy)YEAH!!!!! Good luck!
