What are the signs that indicate that it's time to change your job?
61For me the first sign was I was feeling so bored.
Somehow I lost all interest in going to work, or putting in my best effort.
Here is how it started.
All along I have been an achiever.
I have always been on the honour roll, have been awarded awards for excellence in programming and what not.
The next logical step was to go get a job.
It was what good kids did, get a job, work your behind off, get in debt and work harder to pay off that debt and get into more.
Second sign that you need to change a job
People comment on your performance.
One day, my boss called me into her office.
She said, you know how managers are sugar coated and all.
Anyways she says, " We have no doubt about your programming skills and work ethics, but you know your communication skills need some work.
Also, lately your work seems to have taken a beating ..."
I was muttering to myself, why me, who is we? and what in the world is she talking about?
I am good, I know it.
Also I work my ass of 16 hrs a day at times to meet those silly useless deadlines and what does she mean slacking?
I turn to my mentor for advice, you know my hubby.
After clearing his throat showing sympathy, and lots of ho hum, he says:
"Well I've been meaning to speak to you about this myself. You see you do need a little work on your people's skills"
WHAT ....
Anyways to sum it all up, she was right, I had to work on my people skills. Talking to computers all day long, didnt make me very good with people.
I started on a path of self discovery which changed my life and my hubby's as well.
Oh, about that job .... I resigned.
Not because of that incident, but since she got me thinking I realized I was wasting all my time, spending no time with family and being questioned for the days when I just couldn't put in 100%.
This was time to change.
Third reason to change a Job
You found a new career or want to try a new career.
I was so darn upset, I kind of freaked out or lost it.
After crying, blaming, I decided I wanted to live my dreams.
I started my second career as a kindergarten teacher in my daughter's school.
It lasted 2 months.
I quit.
Then I tried my hand at being a beautician. I quit after 3 months.
I was desperate, then I started a business which didn't do well.
Fourth Reason to change a Job
You have decided what you want to do and go for it
I finally realized that all along I was still fascinated by the internet and by making money online.
Also, I loved Internet marketing and designing websites.
That's when our website design company launched. It took off.
I still felt something was missing, that's when I was referred to an article by a friend and I found that I could make money online.
I am using this method -> how I am making money online
I am now a successful Internet marketer, ok almost successful. I am making decent money online, which has replaced my salary from my business.

Very nicely written hub. Recently I switched my job from one private hospital to a bigger and nicer private hospital where my skills are much better utilized, and I have no regrets except that I wish I had been atleast said goodbye by my last employer by offering me a floral bouquet atleast as realisation of my dedicated work for sooooo many long years. Anyway.
