In to our heats and homes!

Oh how the Simpsons have brought us all so much joy. We welcomed this wonderful dysfunctional family and the insane residents of Springfield on December 17th 1989. It has all been downhill from there. We've laughed, we've laughed so hard we cried, we've been offended, and perhaps even disgusted at times. We love them still! If we didn't The Simpson's would have faded into the background years ago. They have survived and flourished through the last 19 years!

All about the springfield residents:

THE SIMPSON FAMILY

Marge: The stay at home wife and mum with a high tolerance for L.CP.A (lazy couch potato alcoholism).

Homer:Husband to Marge and Father to Bart Lisa and Maggy. A fellow with weight to spare. He loves his family and his wife, but more importantly he love his duff and donuts!

Bart:Son to Homer and Marge, brother to Lisa and Maggy. He is a professional trouble maker with the occasional heart of gold.

Lisa: Daughter to Marge and Homer, sister to Bart and Maggy. She is the brains in the family. Passionate about music and education, but missing the social component needed to make friends and meet boys.

Maggy:Daughter to Homer and Marge and sister to Lisa and Bart. She is the quiet yet expressive pacifier sucking baby.

Snowball II:Cat to Simpson Family, the most harassed animal in the house.

Santaslittlehelper: The sickly skinny dog to the Simpson family.

Simpson Relations:

Selma Bouvier Terwilliger Hutz McClure:The chain smoking sister to Marge and twin sister to Patty. Usually unmarried and currently working as a clerk at the DMV

Patty Bouvier: Sister to Marge and twin sister to Selma. Like her twin she too is a chain smokin unmarried DMV clerk.

Abraham Grampa Simpson: Father to Homer and Grampa to Lisa, Bart, and Homer. Now a cooky old man with little to no sanity left. He resides now at the Springfield Retirement Caste " Where the elderly can hide from the inevitable."

Residents of Springfield (in no particular order):

Charles Montgomery Burns: Possibly the oldest man in Springfield acn certainly the richest and greediest. He runs and owns the Nuclear Power Plant where most of Springfield is employed.

Waylon Smithers: Side kick / P.A to Burns and honerary Malibu stacy fan club member.

Comic book guy: Need I say more?

Carl Carlson: Employee of Burns and friend to Homer Simpson and the others who work in sector 7G.

Dr. Julius Hibbert: Town Doctor at the Springfield County Hospital.

Barney Gumble: Town Drunk

Ned Flanders: The Simpson's incredibaly optimistic and tremendously religous neighbor. He may annoy Homer, but nothing can take that fan diddly tastic grin from his face.

Todd and Rod Flanders: Son to Ned Flanders, they are the impressionable and sometimes naieve pair of brothers.

Edna Krabappel: She does her best to remain adequite as a fourth grade teacher to Bart Simpson.

Krusty the Clown: Entertainer to the Children of Springfield with greedy amitions to be and have much more (usually much more women or boo's)

Sideshow Bob: AKA Robert Tewilliger. Once Married to Selma as a ploy to destroy the life of his greatest enemy.... BART SIMPSON!

Itchy and Scratchy:The evil cat and mouse duo cartoon. Itchy always manages to destroy Scratchy in the most creative and violent manor possible.

Lenny Leanord: Friend to Carl and Homer and employee of Burns Power Plant.

Apu Nahasapeemapetilon: 24/7 clerk of the local Kwik-E-Mart.

Otto Man: School bus driver and otherwise burnt out rocker.

Nelson Muntz: Oldest fourth grade student in Barts class and professional bully. Most famous for his laugh "HA HA" .

Martin Prince:Tattle Tell extraordinare and teachers pet. He is also the Leader of the Super Friends which is a group of misfit braniacs.

Moe Szylack: Owner and operator of the Springfiels local bar Moe's Tavern. He was once a boxer and now a depressed sucidal bar tender.

Seymour Skinner:Principal at Springfield Elementary and Mama's boy. Once upon a time he played lover to Edna Krabappel he spends large portions of his day disciplinning Bart.

Milhouse Van Houten:Best friend to Bart and only child to Luhan and Kirk. Though bullied and told he is a nerd, at least his mom says he's cool!

Chief Clancy Wiggum: The other chubby donut eater of Springfield and Chief of Springfield Police.

Ralph Wiggum:Son to Clancy Wiggum and the best dumb kid in Springfield.

Groundskeeper Willie: The hot tempered, gruff, scruffy, poor, and thickly accented scottsman groundskeeper at Springfield Elementary.

Dr. Nick: Not a licensed surgeon, but a practicing surgeon.

Kent Brockman: SPringfield news reporter.

There are many other characters that have been in the show that I am not mentioning. Who are your favorites? Who did I leave out? Let me know!

Top 10 Lessons I Learned Watching The Simpson's

1) If you choose not to be a housewife, you do have career options. As marge once said " If I wasn't a housewife I'd probably be a homemaker or a domestic engineer". See ladies and gents, WE HAVE OPTIONS!

2) You do not have to say much to effectively communicate. This fact has been proven over and over again by little Maggy Simpson. She knows how to get what she wants with out saying a single word. With out even removing the pacifier from her mouth. Silent communication is all about action and facial expression.

3) Purposely gaining 300 lbs so you can work at home and wear a mu-mu never ends well. That and you can't even dial a phone number!

4) As Milhouse taught us, you can benefit from your parents rocky marriage. All you have to do is convince them that spending money on you is an acceptable apology. You can get nearly anything you want.

5) Skateboarding naked through Springfield on a dare may end with you tied up to a poll in front of the entire town with your "doodle" hanging out for all to see. We also learned that if Dad dared you he is probably not a reliable alibi.

6) Bob Dole and Bill Clinton are actually alien Kang and Kodos.

7) Be careful about what you put in your mouth as it may " taste like burning" and no one likes burning ( well I don't)

8) Opening a bag of ruffled chips in space is terribly dangerous!

9) While pulling a prank a Bart who was, at the time, standing in a tree, I learned that your epidurmus is your hair.

10) The Simpsons couch is complex and everchanging. Sitting on it after an intro clip is never easy. Be wary, you never know what your gonna get!

Ever changing Simpson couch!

If your computer asks you to "press the any key" and you can't find it, Just hit the tab button to order one. Just maybe your computer will start up. Thats what I learned from Homer when he gained weight to work from home.

Everybody loves the Simpsons. Except my Mum, that is. She seems to think it's a cartoon or something. I keep saying to her, "No, Mum, it's REAL!" But she still doesn't get it. Great hub.

I'm a slightly bigger fan of the early family guy stuff over the simpsons. But thats because i prefer watching a show that is trying to teach the people who are in charge and think they should be in charge a few lessons. Not that they'll ever listen! Cool hub!
