Prescription drugs...

I have had to have several prescriptions in my life due to child birth, surgery and the horrible migraines I have to deal with, among other common things. I have to say, yes, sometimes some of them have helped me, but really, I'd rather not take anything at all if possible. As a matter of fact, I was on pain meds and was taking them daily for my migraines, but have weaned myself down to maybe once a week now if that. I have been trying to learn to deal with the pain in other ways...it doesn't always work though, and yes, sometimes I have to take my prescription, but my advice is this; Don't take medicine if you don't absolutely have to! And, please, don't ever take anyone elses medication. You may think it's doing no harm, and sometimes no, it probably isn't. But you never know when something may hit you the wrong way and it can cause severe reactions and even result in death. So, in conclusion, my answer is, yes, I have had prescription drugs, and yes, sometimes they have helped, but no, I wouldn't recommend taking them if you really don't HAVE to. God bless!

I agree with you completely. If the drugs are not something that you HAVE to take, don't. If you must have them, by all means do take them, but be sure to follow the instructions that the doctor who prescribed them has given you. I take several medications, and if I miss a few days, I have problems. I need them to help regulate my blood pressure and to stablize me emotionally. If I miss them, my blood pressure shoots sky, high and I have incredible mood swings. That is a burden to not only me, but also my family. I have had a few side effects that include things like dry mouth, hot flashes, stomach irritation, nausea, headaches, and even some swelling in my hands and feet, but after discussing these problems with my doctor, she found a better choice of medication for me that came without the side effects.
