Besides being rich and famous, they and other celebrities are endorsing the Green Movement with great style and eco-chick selections. Case in point: All three have been spotted carrying the original and cool Harveys Industries Inc. Seatbelt Bags.

These beautiful handbags, fabricated entirely of woven seatbelts, have been featured on hit shows like Friends and are in hot demand among many celebrities including the three aforementioned. With names like Cadillac Blue, Limousine Black, Ferrari Red, and Mary Kay Pink, they are just as fun to say as they are to hold.

Sanctioned by trendy magazines like Maxim and Jointz, big department stores such as Marshall Field's in Chicago, Nordstrom and Henri Bendel in New York, began to snap up the bags. They rapidly become popular with teenagers and people who like eco styles, in spite of the steep prices.

The Harveys started their own business in 1996. With no experience in the fashion industry and little knowledge of designing, they began making handbags out of recycling vintage materials found in flea markets.

The couple created a line of seat belt bags (which require special skills and very sturdy sewing machines to make) in 1997 and called it "Detroit" (as in the motor city), manufacturing bags out of recycled brown, black and gray seat belts, with each one capable of holding about 6,000 pounds of pressure. Shortly afterward, they decided to get the belts (supplied by the same companies that provide automakers) dyed in a variety of pretty colors with names like Gremlin Green, Delorean Silver, Cadillac Blue and Ferrari Red.

Initially, the bags were made in tote and pocket book styles, but the couple later expanded to briefcases, Laptop bags, accesories, travel bags and overnighters, among others.
